hi Arlene, greetings from Egypt. for the past few months it was as same as 2019. you wouldn't have known it ever existed. i think it's the heat that plays a huge factor or maybe cause we have high population density our immune systems are more on guard in a sense. now it's late December which is the coldest time of the year up until late January. so it's picking up but it's still not that serious. regardless of Covid i would suggest that the best time to visit would be next July to September. by that time the grand Egyptian museum would be finished which will be the biggest museum in the world holding over 100,000 artifacts with a direct view over the pyramids. also the new administrative capital would be finished including Africa's tallest building, the largest cathedral in the MENA region and the largest mosque in Egypt.
