Chinese noodles are made from a variety of primary ingredients including wheat, rice, potato starch, mung bean starch, and corn starch, each contributing to the unique texture and flavor of the noodles.

Noodles are made using various methods such as machine-made or handmade techniques, come in different shapes like thin, wide, or irregular, and have a range of flavors from mild to spicy, often incorporating vegetable juices like spinach, carrot, and pumpkin for added nutrition. Making noodles may look simple, but it actually requires a lot of practice and skill.

Chongqing is one of the most visited tourist cities in China, and it is full of visitors from around China all year around. Today's China is confident enough to embrace the world, welcoming all Western brands to establish themselves in China. Unfortunately, I missed the mall when visiting Chongqing last year. But I visited multiple times the biggest and the most modern mall in town, Raffles.

*Fun fact: the current municipality of Chongqing is actually the same size as the entire country of Austria!* 😂 Why? It's a common misconception for many people that Chongqing is one massive city by itself, but in fact the current provincial-level municipality of Chongqing was established in 1997 through a merger of the old Chongqing city with several other independent cities in the entire region.. So in reality, *today's Chongqing it's not really just one city, but a group of several cities just like the Greater New York,* which comprises New York City, Newark City and several other cities together....And that's where the 33 million population statistics of Chongqing come from, which may be a shock to many who are unfamiliar with Chongqing's recent history.
@VeggiesOnTour4 ай бұрын
Wow it's so big, what about Shenzhen?
@M3.Lorenzo4 ай бұрын
@@VeggiesOnTour Yeah... Chongqing is literally just a province that interestingly inherited the name from the original Chongqing city. In contrast, Shenzhen is actually just a normal size city in terms of its geographical/administrative extent. In fact, Shenzhen is considerably smaller than Beijing and Shanghai because Shenzhen was not even historically a real city before 1980s. It first became a special economic zone to facilitate cross-border commerce via Hong Kong and basically grew from a rural border land into a megacity within the past 3 decades.

Thank you for showing China in the most direct and realistic way. As a Shanghainese, I got used to the shopping malls we have without realizing they are impressive. Also the safety and convenience here. Only when I travelled outside China in western countries, I am confused why things are inconvenient there in a lot of different ways, and why public transport is so expensive. I haven’t realized that westerners don’t realize how things can be the other way around and get better. I feel like all counties should be more open minded and learn from each other instead of constant criticism we see on the media.

I know it's your first trip so you're hitting the obvious places but if you make it back, you need to check out china outside overcrowded mega-cities 😅. also if you want tips on local vegetarian places, look near temples as there will often be buffet type places. you can also ask for tips from the younger crowd(more likely to know english and be in touch with western culture) in and about temples but you will need to break the ice because chinese normally won't approach strangers(unless they hustling). I feel kind of bad for you guys eating pretty simple vegetarian meals 😂when it's a major cuisine in china.
