INSIDE CHORLEY FOOTBALL CLUB!

I recently visited Chorley FC again to chat to their groundsman, Stuart. As well as showing me the pitch, I also got to check out the inner workings of Victory Park.
Chorley currently play in the National League North, the 6th tier of English football. They played Wolves last year in the FA Cup, reaching the 4th Round for the first ever time!

Been to Victory Park a couple times (I’m from Dunfermline, Scotland) really nice and proper stadium. It was the first time my Grandma had ever been to a football stadium in her life and she was amazed by the quality of the ground. They were really nice people at Chorley and the only reason I’d have ever gone they’re is because of my Grandma living about 5 minutes away but its cool to see someone like you showing a smaller club like Chorley the respect it deserves.

Thanks Peter, I know some like the smaller teams and some like the bigger so I try and cover both as much as I can! I'm off to Bolton v Burton tonight so that's another random stadium to tick off!

Great video again Sam, I’m thinking of going to a Chorley game in a few weeks as it’s not too far from me. If you like wooden seats and “poles of uncertainty” you’d love the Bob Lord Stand at Turf Moor, an excellent view of the pitch & dugouts and the away end just to the left of you! I’d recommend if you’ve never been to TM! Keep up the great videos mate! 😎

I've just found your channel - and straight away, when you mentioned the old grounds that haven't changed a bit, I had to write a comment. You should really come down to Gosport Borough, our main stand at Privett Park is unchanged in almost 80 years but after some initial success in the last decade and a dramatic fall from grace, we're really starting to go places this season. We've got a few poles of uncertainty, that's for sure! And a turnstile that may be original from the formation of the club in 1944, for good measure. I think you'd be just the right person to bring Hampshire grassroots football to the attention of the masses, and from the old wooden planks in the main stand (there are a few seats if you're posh like that) to Jock's piping hot Bovril, you'd have a grand time down here too. Keep up the good work, I've only known about you for five minutes but I love your channel. 🙂

Nothing taking away from their performance against us or the club itself but there win does need to be put into context as they basically beat our Under 18s on there first ever professional game due to the first team and most of the academy having Covid but the FA refused to delay the match and therefore was an easy win for them but I wish the club all the best and hope to play them with our senior team in the cup again. Also little known fact that the speaker of the house of commons Lindsay Hoyle supports the club.

Bradford Park ave Old stadium you must visit what's left. Loads of history there, and an ex First division club many years ago.some of the old terrace still remain.

It makes me wonder sometimes why wealthy business people don't invest in smaller clubs. It would be a more satisfying journey to take over a small club like Chorley, invest wisely in the team, do up the stadiums and try to entice families into supporting their local team with the aim of seeing the club play in the football league like AFC Wimbledon did.
