My right hand to God, I was hired in 1993 as Director of Projects, working directly for Mr. Trump. Over ten years, we converted the estate into the private club it is today. Many conditions had to be met as part of the conversion. I then supervised the addition of the spa, tennis courts and beach cabana construction. Also secured the approval for the large ballroom on the property that opened in 2005. Took care a permitting and supervised construction of Trump International Golf Club as well. This video is a very accurate, concise overview of the property. I would give hour-long tours for various groups talking about the property's history. It was an other-worldly experience for a number of reasons. Story of a lifetime. I left simply because there was nothing left for me to do there - after ten years.

There were hardly any changes to the exterior of the main house. The same can be said for the historic interior rooms. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has an easement which protects specific features of the estate. We needed permission for most of the additions to the property, like the tennis courts/building and ballroom, etc.

My favorite Trump story about the property was when he put in a 50 foot flag poll and the city sued him to lower the poll to the 35 feet allowed. He racked up millions in fines then negotiated a deal with the city. He agreed to pay the fine but he wanted the city to donate the money to military charities and they agreed. He then had a 15 foot mound putt in on the property and put a 35 foot poll on it.

European craftsman, ancient tiles, historic brickwork.....my only complaint is that you didnt show more color pictures! The ship painting on the wall in the dining room! OMG, so many cool, intricate, and beautiful details that I havent seen anywhere else! A lot of European palaces, villas and manor houses tend to have a uniform look.....not this place! I had seen pictures of the inside, but this video BLEW MY MIND! The fireplaces carved to look like they had canopies? It might be silly, but that's human nature. It's impossible to look at Mar-a-Lago and not think of DJT, and directly associate one with the other, Hitlers former residences were destroyed following WW2, but I suspect Mar-a-Lago will survive post-DJT incarceration/death.

And I would not be so quick to dismiss incarceration. Besides the other dozen or so criminal investigations, this latest theft of Classified docs is rather important. I live in Europe and I visited this place last year . this estate is very well known even here and I am so glad for Trump that he preserved it and it’s a classic with history and craftsmanship that is so exceptional. I don’t believe it’s only 18 million as what the newyork judge had said .

Beautiful place, very fascinating history. C.W. Post got his start in west texas, not very far from me. Post, texas. The town was the location of his first facility.

It will and must be. By the terms of the deed and the agreement with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the property must be used in perpetuum as a club or recreational facility and may never be used a a private residence. That's why the assessed value is so low. It's a permanent commercial property. A Billionaire cannot purchase it and convert it into a private home.

It’s absolutely stunning property. And true to Trump’s desire to have buildings that inspire. Top class

I love looking at these types of homes they're WAY TO BIG for me to live in but how cool would it be to have the means to buy something like this or even being able to rent one.

Look at all the even larger homes that have been built in Beverly Hills. Some up to and over 100,000 square feet.
