My team, glad to see the Bairns treated you so well. What is left of East Stirling's old ground Firs Park is not far from the ground if you ever do a video on old stadiums, it is just off Thornhill Road. They are currently our lodgers having previously shared with Stenhousemuir. Not a lover of plastic pitches but ours is one of the better ones. Great video and great channel 👍 COYB

As much as a dislike plastic pitches, they do make sense for smaller teams to have in Scotland due to harsh winters. Before they were installed by the time January came most of the clubs pitches were in a shocking state. It’s pretty common in countries with bad winters such as Switzerland, Norway and Sweden

Most of the mainland European countries have a way harsher winter than Scotland. Central Scotland is no worse than northern england. Scotland is actually a mild climate. Simpy does not compare to Norway

It is high time for the SPFL to consider expanding the premiership clubs into a 16 league format. Many good clubs are unfairly languishing in the lower tier of the league due to the 12 format system.

If that did happen then suddenly you would have an extremely poor second division which I think would make the drop from top to second division too damaging.

Change is needed to the system, playing the same teams 4 times a season year after year is boring for regulars, let alone try to interest sponsors, tv, and the general public. Can't see anything changing anytime soon tho, whichever model you look at there are short term winners and losers and no one is prepared to comprimise for the good of the game in general.

I have played on a number of plastic surfaces in Canada. You were always beaten by the bounce of the ball, it would be coming down say from long free kick, wait for the first bounce and 9 times out of 10 it went over your head. The ground did not reduce the bounce like real grass or dirt or mud. On the plus side, once the snow had gone in March you could play on it. So avoided waiting that month for things to dry out and grass to grow. Enjoyed your video thank you.

Next time you are in the Falkirk area you should visit a club called Stenhousemuir fc, their grounds Called Ochil view which is about 2 miles away from Falkirk stadium. They play in the third division. The club formed in 1884 and were first club in Scotland to try out floodlights at a game in 1951 👍

First synthetic pitch was at Dunfermline which got the worst of the 4 being trialled around about early 2000's so they were banned for a while but they have got more advanced over the years and most are ok if maintained properly and have to be replaced ever 5-6 years. Main difference between them and grass pitches is that the ball tends to bounce higher

The guy means well but a bit more preparation would help a lot. Why not ask someone who supports the team to give him the information he needs - eg the pitch at Falkirk is at the top end of the plastic pitches and plays much better than most. It needs to be replaced in a few years admittedly but it won't really give you carpet burn. The training pitches at the back are not used by the professional teams either. And probably filming from the front would not make the place look as dirty as beginning filming at the back of the stadium where on-going work is happening and where he clearly just parked up. Small points but the difference between a professional film and something that feels ill prepared.

Plastic pitches imo are fine for the smaller clubs in the lower leagues (Stenhousemuir, Alloa, Clyde, Airdrie etc.) As ut makes financial sense, they can higher the pitches out when they arent using them and obviously its much cheaper to run.......but in the Premiership teams should be forced to install a grass pitch, Hamilton, Livingston and Killie all in the top flight with a plastic pitches is poor

I understand financially why clubs have the artificial grass but it's terrible, it looks bad for Scottish football when clubs like Falkirk actually have a nice wee set up, Clyde have a fantastic set up too, I'd rather see a 14 team league with these nice wee grounds than the shambles that is Hamiltons ground, should not be allowed in the top league. Really nice to see inside these stadiums.

Aye nice one because league positions are decided off of how good your ground is. Maybe if teams like Clyde and Falkirk weren't in league one you would see them in the premiership.

Plastic pitches are horrible, for example Anthony stokes signed for Livingston and left 2 weeks after because he couldn’t adjust to training on the plastic turf, just a joke tbh. The amount of Celtic and rangers players that get injured on plastic pitches is ridiculous because they are used to grass
