Something I''d love to see from FSR / DLSS is a dynamic internal resolution option that adjusts to match your target frame rate. The only game I've seen that supports this is Deathloop's DLSS and it's a brilliant flawless execution. You can set your exact FPS target, and it will always be met with no noticeable difference in image quality since DLSS does an amazing job compared to basic upscaling. Furthermore it allows the internal res to scale higher than the preset "Quality" setting does, so if you can hit the target with power to spare, it becomes DLAA and just renders at native res! The consistency of a rock solid frame rate combined with this tech for resolution is perfection.

It's awesome that it allows us to play games at higher frame rates while still looking good on sub-2000 dollar GPUs. Sure, a 3090 with DLSS looks and performs better but DLSS isn't really for the 2000+ dollar GPUs is it? I like the 1980s mechanical pencil sharpener to his back left. Really helps sell the progress that’s been made. Or I’m wrong and it’s a toaster just upscaled.

On a sort of seperate note. FSR seems to work really well in VR, almost more so than DLSS in 2 or 3 games i've tried. So i'm really excited for FSR 2.0 in more VR titles where a stable frame rate is even more important that normal

What does it do better in VR than DLSS?

I don't share this experience, DLSS seems to look a lot better

@@KeepAnOpenMind to me in f1 2022 it looks sharper and runs smoother. Same with into the radius. But that's just 2 off the top of my head where DLSS looked more blurry

Wow, have I just heard the Age Of Empries soundtrack on the background on after the 14-th minute?

So far my favorite implementation of FSR 2.0 is, funny enough, an unofficial one with the FSR mod for Cyberpunk, which disables FSR 1.0 and replaces DLSS instructions and settings to FSR, which helps on a 1660ti. The game is still unoptimized as fuck so i still get CPU related framedrops even with the lowest CPU heavy settings, but this aliviates quite a lot of the problems and lets me increase GPU heavy settings instead

Posting this before watching the video, but I really hope their scalability improves for lower resolutions. The titles I’ve tried on Steam Deck with FSR 2.0 are a temporal mess. Everything I’ve tried looks like the DLSS trailing bug in Deathloop, except all the time.

Use FSR 2.0 max at 1920x1080, then a driver super resolution downsample back down to 800p (when 16:10 supported) or 720p.
@xtechtips1522 жыл бұрын
800p native and using fsr is pretty bad.

does fsr 2.0 work better at higher fps? and even better at high resolution on top of that?

The question around 11 minutes should have been expected. With some preparation he should be able to give a better anwser than the non-generic we will improved dodge anwser. At least that is my assumption.

I would have definitely liked to know more about the low number of console games that used FSR 1.0 and whether 2.0 is likely to be much more common. I've read Forspoken is supposedly going to use 2.0 in both the PC and PS5 versions.

Any knowledge on when openvr will get full support? So far modders have been the only ones implementing it for vr titles. Please correct me if I'm wrong. 😄

What I would like to see in the future is FSR over the cloud or local streaming to VR HMD over Wi-Fi, which might alleviate issues related to bandwidth and latency.

To be honest, no one would complain if AMD locked FSR to their GPUs like Nvidia did with DLSS. But that's what I like about engineering-driven approach that AMD has taken when Dr. Su got onboard as CEO. It's 'let's make cool tech available to everyone and bring new users while doing so' rather than 'we need more money, what kind of proprietary bullshit should we create so people keep buying our and only our stuff'. The fact that AMD has the entire GPUOpen initiative (btw, nice T-Shirt Nick) and opensource and freely available drivers (on Linux at least), profiling and debugging tools, and even ProRenderer, shows their commitment to that approach. It's, of course, partially because AMD was an outsider on GPU market for quite long time and that's the quickest way to catch up and win dev's hearts, but their results (both financial and technical) shows that you can make cool tech, make profit out of it while not being total asshole with your customers. Recently got RX 6600 for 1080p gaming on Linux (I use Arch btw), and couldn't be happier with both performance and compatibility. Keep it up!
