The cake is a metaphor for a failed relationship. “I don’t think that I could take it, because it took too long to bake it” is a reference to trying to rekindle the romance. Beautiful.

I love "Mac Arthur Park"! I love the music, and the lyrics are just hilarious. The drama and the sincerity with which Donna Summer is singing it and the contrast to the silly and mundane lyrics. This always makes me chuckle. 🤣🤣🤣 When I read the name "Glen Campbell" I immediately had "Rhinestone Cowboy" in my head.
