Inside Gloucester Cathedral

On 17th February we went around Gloucester Cathedral. Gloucester is my home town so I get to see this beautiful building a lot but I don't often film it or spend the amount of time we did on this occasion. Gloucester Cathedral holds the body of King Edward II and attracted a lot of pilgrims in the early days, now it's tourist. I filmed the Cloister Gardens; the Cloisters, which were used in the first two Harry Potter films. In the Cloisters you also get a shot of where the monks used to wash (the lavatorium) which was built in the late 14th century. I filmed the medieval stained glass; the Tribune Gallery and the Whispering Gallery (the Whispering Gallery is a bit dark for filming really, maybe I should go again with some lighting). I filmed views from the gallery down into the Cathedral as well as other shots including the Crypt which used in the Sherlock Christmas Special.
Look out for in the Community post a photograph of the medieval stained glass showing a golfer and paw prints pointed out by my Liverpool friends that I had never noticed before.
I'd like to say hello to two friends that came from Liverpool to visit me recently (you know who you are). They enjoyed touring Gloucester Cathedral so I hope this little video will remind them of their visit.
