I live in hawaii and I can confirm that the Daniel K international airport is amazing and I love how it's so detailed and even tho it takes up maybe 3% of hawaii island space I still love it

Pity you missed the A-C gates…there is an equally nice garden in that section that is a memorial garden for a lady named C.B. (Clarabelle) Lansing, who was a longtime flight attendant for Aloha Airlines (and who sadly lost her life during that infamous Aloha Airlines incident when the roof ripped off of part of the plane and the pilots were able to make a miracle emergency landing)…it is a lovely and serene place to spend a few minutes and a very nice tribute to this woman.

Thank you for a great video that brought back many fond memories of being in Hawaii! I've traveled the world (36 states & 18 countries) and HNL is truly my favorite airport in the world. What makes it so amazing is after a long flight to Hawaii from the mainland you get off the plane into a small terminal but when you leave it you walk through the open-air walkways to the main terminal for baggage claim. What make this so special is after a long stuffy flight you walk outside and are engulfed by the amazing aroma of the tropical flowers as you walk to the main terminal. Truly one of my favorite parts of going to Hawaii. My family and I would always stop for several minutes to enjoy the refreshing fresh air that smelled off the wonderful tropical flowers. Again, thank for for another great video! Cousin Mike from NC

My home airport! Many memories here but the terminal 2 is really aging, especially the center concourse (E gates, D and F gates), If only they could renovate it to be like the new A gates in Honolulu!

All told on trips to/from Australia, I've wound up living about a week and a half or so of my life in this airport and while you'd think that'd make me kind of sick of it, it's actually the opposite. In a weird way I kind of love the place.

Hi: Trying to avoid staying overnight in HNL. Do you think 2:05 hours trasnfer from domestic to international terminal is enough time ? I will have to pickup my bags from Southwest and checking to ANA. thanks
@YellowProductions5 ай бұрын
If your flight is on time 2 hours is probably enough.. if you're delayed at all then that'll be rough. I personally would not do a 2 hour connection on seperate tickets with luggage in HNL

We had a flight via the Honolulu Airport in the last year or so and it was under construction at some point. We booked a flight Melbourne to LA and it was very confusing because we were trying to connect to a flight to the US and had to try and figure out how to get to another terminal. They were giving directions to many people but it was not clear. Then we we got to the area where we next had to get directions, I had to go from place to place because everyone kept ignoring me. It was shocking and I could not believe it. Finally, after getting an answer to where we were supposed to go, we arrived. That experience put us off that airport for "passing thru". We love Honolulu though and have been quite a few times, plus I was stationed there years ago.

Open air terminal? Can't wait to see Newark International's version especially when the wind is coming from Bayone or Keansberg.

I was shocked that Terminal 2 is older than Terminal 1. I flew out of Terminal 1 for the first time on our trip in late July/early August and looked at Terminal 1 with its Brutalist Architecture and horrible layout with the check-in counters and TSA; I thought it was built in the 1960s, not the 1980s. It is poorly advertised, but there is an area across from driveways from Terminal 1 where they will put a fresh Lei on you, I am not sure how much it is as the only reason I found it was that I was returning our rental car and drove past it. Miss the days when they would put one on you as you exited the plane (was that a thing? Or was it just for us) because when we came for a conference in college in 1988, Miss Hawaii put the Lei on us. Such a special moment.

Hawaii got all its fruit flies from CA and now you need Ag inspection because CA doesn't want them back.🤣 Get the prime Rib from Lahaina chicken, so good! I've never gone down to the garden and I'm originally from HI and go through there often.🤔
