Koppikar,Nagwekar,Bhandarkar,Chandavarkar and may surnames ending with Kar are Mangalorians and Bengalis and not all are Maharashtrians. Lots of People including me misunderstood that all surnames ending with Kar are Maharashtrians.I have a friend who's surname is Nagwekar they don't understand a word of Marathi. Then i studied a little about surnames in India and got to know many things in detail. I am Kashmiri and i learned that lots of community in Karnataka have a Kashmiri genealogy.
