Oh my goodness! I order from Jackson's all the time and love them so much. Thank you for the tour! I've always wondered what it looked like!

This is such an interesting video! Living in Canada, I heard a lot about this store but have never been there in person. So thank you for showing us around :) The only constructive criticism I have is I wished the exposure in your camera was a bit lower because sometimes it so bright we can't see well. But otherwise I really enjoyed this video!

Thank you! I know sorry about that, I had to colour correct a lot, it went very grey outside. 🧡

@@AlyonasWatercolourCreations i totally get it! I struggle so much with exposure and white balance when it’s grey outside 😅

Nice video Alyona! I have shopped online at Jackson's but since they don't have a store near me in the USA I have never seen the inside of their shop. So thank you for sharing this video and take care! :)

I've just come home from our local Musgrave Art Shop here on the Gold Coast in Australia. They really cater to us locally and will order in any products we may want that aren't on the shelves. We have a huge selection of great artist quality products plus they cater for beginners and student range as well. I love shopping locally and supporting our local economy. I have often looked at the Jackson website but I hesitate buying because of shipping and also I like to look at what I'm buying physically. Our store swatches all it's paints and don't just rely on the manufacturers printed colour sheets. That's really helpful because the actual colours can vary immensely. There are some UK products I'd like to try like the Roman Szmal watercolours and Seawhite concertina notebooks. I have a swatch book and highly recommend it. I used to end up buying some of the same products which can be costly mistakes so now I shop with intention. It takes time to become knowledgeable and to define what we enjoy using. A good art shop will help people get started because it can be intimidating at first to see so many products. They should be super friendly and helpful. Ours is and we get a discount every time we shop. They even show us more affordable options to help us get more bang for our buck. Thanks for sharing this particular store. I love art supplies.

I haven’t yet come across an art supplies shop that has everything in there. They tend to be relatively small. There is a local art shop that is a lot smaller than Jackson’s. Then there is a huge arts and crafts shop but art supplies section is also smaller than Jackson’s. Roman Szmal is a polish watercolour brand. 🧡

Ahhhhhh the place my wages go each month in return for some tiny tubes of pigment and whatever shiny thing takes my fancy at 2am 🤣🤣🤣 brass pencil case.... Pass me my Christmas list!

I'd recommend checking Atlantis Art material, they're also in a super non touristy area of North East London and their brush section is bigger than Jackson one (also, their website states "free parking" 😉)

First impression Jackson values light. In Portland Oregon the art shops are dark and crammed. Two people per aisle is too many to happy shop. Did the sell Roman Szmal in shop?
@AlyonasWatercolourCreations2 жыл бұрын
Nope, Roman Szmal I didn’t see amongst many other brands. That’s why their online shop is so popular, it has a lot more than it would be possible to fit in their physical shop. 🧡

I’m the kind of tourist who would make sure to end up in that part of London. For the SOLE reason of going to Jackson’s. My fantasy is a peek into the shipping department - just to see how my favorite packages get their start. 😂 That would make a great YT post, ahem, Jackson’s if you’re listening…

Thanks! Yep, it is. It was nice but I don’t think there was as much as watercolour or acrylic paints, those isles were the bomb! 👌🏼🧡

Interesting! Funny enough I’m going to London next week and this shop is in my list. Other coincidence is I made a note to myself to bring my swatch book with me. I wanted to focus on brands I cannot find easily here in Ireland like Turner and Holbein gouache, Holbein coloured pencils and maybe check the sketchbooks and brushes by Jackson. Did you see Holbein products in store apart from acryla?
@AlyonasWatercolourCreations2 жыл бұрын
Didn’t see Holbein watercolours nor pencils! In terms of pencils only saw Faber Castell and Caran d’Ache. 🧡
