Caitlyn Jenner and Kris Jenner have a history that spans decades. The exes starred on the hit reality show, Keeping Up With Kardashians, which documented their blended family. After 23 years together, they spilt. In the midst of going through a very public divorce, Caityn Jenner was also going through a very public transition. Upon coming out as a trans woman, Caitlyn wrote a book that detailed her relationship with ex, Kris Jenner. In that book, she made claims that would set Kris and the Kardashian clan off. One thing I will always stand by is that Kris has 0% responsibility for the estrangement between Cait and her children. Kris could have flat out told her “you’re not allowed to see your kids” and it wouldn’t have mattered because any parent who cared about their children would have said “they are my kids and no one is keeping them way from me and if you don’t like it you can leave” The fact that even today only about 3 out of her 10 bio and stepkids willingly talk to her says A LOT.

My own Dad had another child after me (by a different woman) and I never met her til I was 19 years old and she turned 16 years old the first visit; because he said his Ex-Wife (my other 3 sibs Egg Donor) told him that he couldn't stay in contact with my sister because of her sketchy family... Even on the later seasons Bruce was on the reality show, I noticed he was starting to look odd. I noticed this and wondered after just seeing him in a couple scenes on that show. Who is telling the truth? It's difficult to say since Caitlyn and Kris are equally dishonest, controlling, narcissistic, selfish, and unlikable each in their own way! I believe when Caitlyn was Bruce, he lacked the confidence to be assertive (other than in sports) and that's why he was attracted to and relied upon strong wives (Chrystie, Linda and Kris). I never even watched their reality show yet heard plenty about how controlling Kris was. It may have been her idea to have Bruce focus solely on their family (and that would NOT surprise me at all), however, Bruce had a voice and four other children. At the end of the day, his choices were his alone and I guarantee you if any of the first four have issues about his lack of parenting, they blame him, not Kris. So as to the question of who is lying about Bruce's transition, I'd have to say Kris is more likely to do so to save face. Overall, I feel the real MVP was Chrystie! Without her love, emotional and financial support, Bruce wouldn't have made it to the Olympics. Half that medal is hers, imo She's the true unsung hero along with her kids who seemed to have been a bit more pushed out of the way than even Linda's children.

As a straight woman, like Linda, I would be pissed if the man I planned to spend my life with and have children with never mentioned his gender identity until after we had kids. It's like, why did you waste my time and energy just to fit into society, not caring that he wasted the time she invested in him, only to learn she is his so- called beard. Also 100% agree that if I marry a man, there is a physical component to that, so just because he transitioned to be a woman, doesn't stop her wanting a man with the equipment he was born with.

Exactly. I think the only way I could stay was if we were elderly and sex was no longer an issue just companionship and friendship and parents. You can love the person but you can't be expected to change your sexuality just because your spouse changes gender. I would be pissed also. If my child's other parent was someone I'd been married to for decades, first of all, they wouldn't have had to hide anything from me, but if by some chance they had, I love a person for character, not gender. This is just my personal opinion on the subject though. I see why others feel differently.

If two heterosexuals can get over 1, not telling the truth about their true sexual identity, at that point, you are wasting the other's time unless you are clear up front

I, too, am a straight woman, but I would think that it took "him" some time to accept himself and that these proclivities spoke to a larger issue that back then couldn't be surgically "corrected". I read Linda Thompson's book (Caitlyn's 2nd wife). She pretty much abandoned her children before the Kardashians. And it wasn't because of her ex wives that she didn't have a relationship with her first 4 children. And she lived a few miles away. She treated the Kardashian kids wayyyy better than her own. It's really messed up. I personally can't stand her. Kris is more tolerable of the two though... lol

Thank you for commenting and sharing. I read Linda’s book as well and was shocked that Caitlyn claimed Kris kept her away from the 4 older Jenner children. She (Caitlyn) clearly stated in her own book that she wasn’t there for them prior to even meeting Kris. I agree, she treated the Kardashian kids as well as Kendall and Kylie way better. She was definitely a more involved father with them. She even admitted that. They all did. The Jenner children have recently stated that they are close to Caitlyn now and feel that she is a much better parent to them since she’s transitioned. I don’t know if they all say that but Brandon has publicly expressed this.

Caitlyn is a Republican who openly supports Trump, although she has transitioned. Caitlyn does not care about the LGBTQ, most people in the community. Supported her because Caitlyn transitioned not realizing Caitlyn had different opinions than what they thought, that’s why you haven’t heard of any support to the LGBTQ community.

Why does Bruce keep being "surprised" by his partners' pregnancies? I wonder what really went through Kris' head, what she envisioned their marriage would be and what was in it for her? Edit: it does look, like Bruce was in an abusive relationship. Being forced to cut contact with family members and having no control on financial matters are classic signs of coercive control.

I wondered the same thing!… Edit to add: that I watched an interview with Caitlyn’s Mom Esther. Kris was also interviewed. They were interviewed separately but in the documentary. In that interview Esther said “we’re so proud of Bruce. It would be nice if he could spend more time with the family. It would be nice if he could spend more time with us, and this side of the family” Right after, Kris in her interview said “Bruce doesn’t go back. He’s not the type of person to look back”. I was shook! It was very sad and interesting to see/hear his mother pleading to have a relationship with her child and then cut to Kris saying “he doesn’t go back”. Wow So you definitely have a point regarding the nature of their relationship.

One episode Bruce wanted to use his credit card that Kris held on to while Kris has a new $5000 dress to wear to an event - Kim, Khloe and Bruce pick up the dress and hold it hostage until Kris hands Bruce his credit card back. Yes, BUT there is a back story to all that. Bruce was broke when they met and a chronic over-spender. Kris fixed his career, paid the household bills, and kept Bruce from wasting it away. Bruce WANTED that initially and chose a passive role preferring to let the weight of business rest on Kris's shoulders. When people abdicate responsibility and take a passive role, control freaks can go too far. Yes... Kris took it too far. But Bruce wasn't communicating clearly either...asking for a bigger "allowance" or whatever. If he wanted full control of his share of the money, that would be normal and fine but when they divorced, he went back to wasting his money again in large part. Maybe he learned enough from Kris to invest better etc. But instead of taking his power back WITHIN the life he had... he threw it all away to start over very suddenly. I am not a fan of Kris or the Kardashians but I still found him very inconsiderate in his transition process/divorce/tell all book. I think many involved are narcissistic...so it is tragic all around.

I find it disturbing that Caitlyn can't understand why Khloe was upset with the transition. Khloe lost her father and Bruce was the step father who essentially raised her. She was struggling with the "death" of Bruce and trying to put that in perspective. I think Khloe was the only person TRULY understanding the process. She was hurt by how easily Bruce seemed to throw away what, for her, was her father. I am still moved by Khloe's pain. She was grieving and doing so publicly and I don't think Bruce was emotionally there for her. He had already made the decision and he didn't realize that this young woman was laying her heart down and REALLY saying that she was going to miss HIM!!! So sad and I believe it shows the shallowness of his personality. Narcissists have a difficult time understanding deep emotions from OTHERS!

she said herself that cait made it seem like it was an old part of their life and cait mentions that kris used her managerial skills to eliminate the rumours too and that she never told kris the whole story, just that it was a thing she did before (seemingly not even correcting their breasts not being moobs). cross dressing and being a transvestite was a thing straight dudes became more open about doing around this time and sissification was a fetish known among adults too (dedicated clubs started popping up in the 60s for it) and since cait didn't act like a woman behind the scenes only occasionally cross dressed, it's not really that hard to believe in the slightest

It probably runs deep considering that she is refusing to take even a little bit of responsibility for that action, of neglecting her children. If a parent neglects their child, and the child wish to talk about that as an adult, the least that parent can do is to listen to them and also apologize. Jenner refused to do so, probably because the truth hurts and to shut the kids down was probably easier. Some people often wanna claim none of us know their family, which is true that we don’t know them as a whole and individually to a full extent, but it’s over a decade of their dysfunction being broadcasted globally- so people really can’t claim the public doesn’t know them at all. Enough has been shown, to know these people can’t have a calm and productive problem solving session when they start to disagree. They gaslight, deflect or attack each other instead of simply listening. Caitlyn Jenner’s issue is probably rooted in deep shame, and instead of facing her shame around her poor parenting in many instances, she’s choosing to shut down the conversation and by doing so she’s shutting down their ability to connect. To listen, means she has to take in how she has treated her children over the years and also stepchildren. The way she spoke to Khloe was so sad to see, how she shared she no longer mattered to her and only Kendall and Kylie (even if she doesn’t seem to have much of a healthy contact with them either). Spending time with a kid because they share the same interest as you, doesn’t count as being present! A parent should be present no matter the child’s interest. The Kris being controlling thing is true, we all saw it on the show. How she wouldn’t let Jenner even have access to their own money to buy some minor things for some electric toys while spending several thousands on a dress she would only wear once. Many viewers felt sorry for Jenner, because no ine in the house seemed to listen to them. Even still, we need to communicate our needs or move on and not sit and purge all of that years later in public while getting paid.

I don't think most people can appreciate that Bruce was truly between a rock and a hard place for most of his life. I was a dancer in the 70s and had several transgender friends. They were women when I knew them. Their main fear was that their original, biological gender would be discovered and they were right to be afraid. One friend faced a broken bottle at her throat. Another committed suicide. In the 80s, things were starting to change, but just starting. It was something new. People didn't understand and they didn't accept. There was no language for gender dysphoria, the concept was barely there. How confusing it must have been, especially since he was attracted to women, including the women he was married to. Bruce the athlete was real and it's hard to disown a whole successful lifetime you worked so hard for. So, yes, in hindsight, Bruice/Caitlin could have handled things better, certainly with their kids. But once again, I don't think most people can appreciate how hard it must have been to feel you're in the wrong body, try to be a success within society, when your inner self can never match the outside identity you feel you must maintain.

I’m more inclined to believe Caitlyn over Kris, since the big lies about the sex tape and Kris’s signature being on the release. If Bruce truly did have gender dysphoria for most of his life, that is sad that he had to wait so long to become Caitlyn because he was a public figure. Kris and Bruce used each other. She saw him as a talent/commodity who fit into her plans for fame and fortune. He saw her as a strong, capable leader who could rescue him. In terms of which one is telling the truth about whether Kris knew Bruce’s gender secret, the overwhelming evidence is that she absolutely knew and is lying when she accuses Bruce-now-Caitlin of deceiving her. Let’s remember Kris is also the one who orchestrated and marketed Kim’s pornographic sex tape as part of her Momager plan to achieve stardom for them all. I have a trans gen brother. Which i respect in every way. But when i talk about my childhood i say my sister, but talking in present time i say brother. Because it was my childhood to and i cant alter that. I have huge respect for rights but i have some to ❤ Another thing i was taught by my bro - he was no longer a lesbian like before transition, he was now a straight male.

I don’t think either of them are at fault. They could have quietly divorced and went their separate ways. The book was the end of any possibility of a friendship. Now it’s as if Kris was never married to them. Kris is in the public eye so what else was she to do except dismiss the whole situation.

It’s extremely concerning that Kris controlled her and Caitlyn’s money. It comes off like she is controlling her purchases, therefore not allowing Caitlyn the freedom to transition. And it’s more than that because it’s such an assertion of power and dominance. It feels meant to manipulative control and trap Caitlyn.

My spouse knew about their gender issues since childhood, but didn't disclose anything about it to me until after we were married. They even started transitioning and taking hormones for almost a year without telling me. I found the hormones on my own and confronted them about it. My son is trans, and I accepted that immediately and got him treated right away - I don't have a problem at all with anyone being trans...but, you can't help who/what you're attracted to. I was legally allowed to have my marriage annulled due to fraud. I think it's immoral of someone to marry and build a life with someone without disclosing something that is such an integral part of who they are. When they decide how they really want to live, it affects their spouse's life just as much as theirs, and changes the entire dynamic of the marriage completely - if there can even be any kind of marriage at all. I honestly feel angry, resentful, and devastated about it. As far as Caitlyn herself, I don't have any respect for her because she's an entitled hypocrite & a liar. She parrots right-wing talking points to justify the disenfranchisement of other trans people , but doesn't apply them to herself. One example is that she says trans women shouldn't be allowed to participate in women's sports yet she played in a women's tennis tournament.

He has his story from a warped idea blaming her for reacting in the negative for his estrangements from his kids. He did that himself. He married 3 times and revealed this transgender issue after marrying these woman, having kids and not before he committed to them. He got what he wanted, now he’s the woman he pined for until he was 65 yrs old. You bet your going to have huge issues with this. Then you write a scathing book blaming the wife who stuck by you fo 22 yrs. Creating a business to keep the lifestyle you enjoyed., so you go get a job and keep some of it for yourself. I used to watch Keeping up with the Kardashians , Bruce was a househusband and I remember Kris taking his credit card off him to punish him ,I never forgotten it ,it would of been emasculating . She treated him pretty badly at times . She must of known , there is no way she couldn’t !

If Caitlyn made any changes in her life it had nothing to do with her transitioning. Her relationships with her kids were poor because of her own actions and she did not take any ownership in those actions or apologize. Her relationships with her kids improved after she took responsibility for her bad behavior and apologized for it, instead of blaming others for it. While Kris had her faults, she did make some attempts to work on their relationship. Caitlyn just whined and complained about their relationship and then separated from her. It ended the way it did because again, Caitlyn says some terrible things about Kris and did not apologize or admit she was wrong. I read the whole book. Caitlyn mentioned how controlling Kris was during the marriage. She said that Kourtney isn’t as beautiful as Kim was. She also mentioned that taking care of Kendall and Kylie was a way to distract him from transitioning.

I will say, I don't agree with Caitlins political standpoints but I absolutely have empathy for her as a Trans woman for her journey. Her life. And Bruce's life, are so interesting to watch unfold over the years.
