I'm afraid that your assumption is incorrect, it's not a jacket that we stock. Thanks for watching.

I ordered a Haglöfs spire mimic hooded jacket in large today after I got the Haglöfs essence mimic in medium, but it was too small. Other question: are the black pants you wear in the video the Montane Terra? which Montane model would you generally choose for hiking in cool and wet conditions? Greetings from Germany and happy Christmas Jens
@trekitt4 жыл бұрын
Hi, good choice with the jacket! The pants I'm wearing are the Montane Terra Mission and they are perfect for use in cool and wet conditions. These are my own trews and I've been using them for the past few weeks in all weather and they have performed superbly. Happy Christmas. Paul.

Hi, Thanks for this review. Would you consider this jacket for a spring or a summer camp in a mountain ? Would it be confortable in the evening, if the temperature goes near to 0° ?
@trekitt3 жыл бұрын
Whether it'd be comfortable largely depends on how many layers you have underneath and how warm you are as a person, but it will be around the right ballpark.
@clmntleroy3 жыл бұрын
It would be with a 200 g/m² merino shirt as a first layer, possibly a 140 g/m² micro polar jacket as the second (i'd like to avoid to take this one to gain place and weight), then the Spire Mimic Hood and eventually a Windbreaker jacket (from Haglofs by the way, the LIM comp, wich is really nice too).
@sepantsystem22373 жыл бұрын
Nice and pro review as usual. How much is the strength of the outer layer in denier? And if you assign a number for warmth like 10 for the v series, what's the warmth number for this one? (according to your body feel)
@trekitt3 жыл бұрын
The Spire uses a 30D outer fabric, but this isn't necessarily a measurement of strength but more the thickness of the fibres in the fabric. If stood still, the Spire is probably 60%-70% as warm as the V Series. Hope that helps. Harry

Hello, thanks for this pro review, very informative. How would you compare this jacket with Rab Cirrus Alpine (synthetic)? Both have similar price range. I plan to buy one of the two for winter walk and possibly ski.
@trekitt3 жыл бұрын
Both very, very similar. The deciding factor will be which one fits you best. Try both if you can. Harry

Hello Paul & Harry. Thanks again for the great review. Would appreciate if you would kindly answer my query. 3 months ago you reviewed the Haglöfs v series mimic Hood of which you had a lot of good things to say about. Is this jacket an upgrade of the v series? How does the warmth compare between the two? Watch of these two would be an ideal choice for snow walking in the winter? Thank you.
@trekitt4 жыл бұрын
Hi, the Spire Mimic is not an upgrade of the V Series Mimic. Think of the Spire as the "standard" model and the V Series as the "Premium" model. The V series is warmer thanks to that amazing insulation and fabrics. To be honest, both would be ideal for winter walking, but the V Series will be lighter, pack down smaller and deliver improved weather resistance. I hope that helps you decide. Paul.

Is the jacket warm enough for walking in the city? Full synthetic? Rab nebula pro vs ME superflux vs Haglofs Mimic Spire Mimic
@trekitt9 ай бұрын
The Spire Mimic is a full synthetic (hence mimic), comparing to the nebula and superflux, it is on par with the Superflux and then the Nebula has a little more insulation. All of them would be fine for walking around the city. Personal preference a little, Ben's favourite of the bunch is the Superflux.

Hi ! I would like to ask if this jacket is the succesor of the Haglofs Essens Mimic Hooded Jacket (this model - the "Spire" - looks like a ... cheaper version of the Essens Mimic). I found that the Essens Mimic and Spire Mimic are both 485g for size L, both use Pertex Quantum as fabric, but the filling for Essens is QuadFusion Mimic (220g for size L) and Mimic GOLD (104g for size L) for Spire, and Spire has also the ripstop fabric. Of the two models I mentioned, what is the better product ? For me, it LOOKS (because I cannot compare them directly) like the Spire (the newer model ?) is cheaper & lower quality than the Essens - could you express your point on this ? Also, the Haglofs V Series Mimic Hood is a different product ? How about Haglofs L.I.M Mimic Hood ? Thank you in advance for answering !
@trekitt3 жыл бұрын
It's similar in its intentions but has a very different fit. The old Essens had a pretty slim fit with a waistband that used to rise up during use; the new Spire (in my opinion) is a lot more comfortable. Quality wise they're exactly the same. The V-Series is a lot warmer and more weather-resistant and the LIM is lighter and more breathable. All fit differently, so if you can, try them on before purchasing. Harry

Does this jacet compere to the Atom lt or the atom ar? And witch would you recomend?

Yes, similar intentions to the Atom AR but different fit and fabrics. I would try both on if you can. Harry

What size would you recommend I order, I'm 5' 9" and 40" chest? I have looked at Haglöfs size guide but would be good to get your opinion
@trekitt3 жыл бұрын
You'll either be a medium or large depending on your waist size. The medium size has a 33" waist, for reference.

Do you have a problem with the jacket riding into your armpits? For some reason it's rides into mine (5'10" size medium) and even with a vest on underneath.
@trekitt3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I’ve had a Haglofs Essenes mimic (large) for many years and have not had any issues with it riding into my armpits. The fit of this new model is identical so I’m sure there’s no issue with this one either. Haglofs do tend to have a slimmer, taller fit with them being a Scandinavian brand, you might want to try Rab which has a more “regular” fit. Thanks for watching. Paul.
