@@nampijjanazifah6358 It's coz they are trying to create a self supporting economy....Uganda was kicked out of Agoa, rejected LGBTQ, u were happy so no more aid,grants n loans, human rights contract organization (UNHRC) was terminated, still no aid.All that aside,ur failing to support local industry and importing more goods than we export(Ur killing Bubu) so expect that to support the economy after all Uganda is rich😄😄.....We even hv debts to pay off yet we are quarter way sanctioned....Who else understands the economy better....Just expect more taxes

The URA commissioner should have put it to the president that collecting tax at only one stage (factory, border point) would be akin to going back to the old direct SALES TAX with commensurate rates, some as high as 80%, on select goods. Overall M7 as usual exhibited strategic grasp of the macro economics in the world order scheme of things during the parley.

Why can't VAT be automatically deducted by the bank upon payment by the client?. It would eliminate all these troubles. The system needs proper automation & we wouldn't have to deal with all these. When most of the payment is electronic (Bank/Mobile wallets) with URA deductions automated we wont have these troubles. Less employment at URA too
