When it comes to BMX parts and products, traditionally the person buying the product only gets to see the product either in the shop they bought it from or a few photos online. Only few ever really see where the product actually was made and came from before getting to that stage.
There's only a handful of brands that can say they produce their products in-house in BMX or, really, in the entire bicycle industry, and it goes without saying that it's an interesting process to see.

We made a trip to the Profile Racing warehouse in St. Petersburg, Florida to catch a tour of the warehouse with Matt Coplon to see just where the hubs, cranks, sprockets, stems and a number of other products are produced. Between the freestyle BMX, BMX racing, mountain bike and even car parts they produce, there's quite a bit to see from the stock to the crazy machines they use to produce everything from a piece of metal into a precision product.
Hit play, kick back and take the tour! Big thanks to Matt Coplon and Profile Racing for letting us come through!

Nice to see an American company making things in America 👍 Too many companies turn their back on America. I'm glad I own several Profile products, which are also top quality.

The reason why I study machining in school is because I love to ride bmx. And I was hoping to work at the bmx factory someday. Although that dream haven’t come true yet. But at least I have an idea how to do it now, since I was working as a machinist today.

Always had mad respect for Profile products and this video only helps to add to that! I wasn't at all surprised to see how well Matt knew his products and was stoked to see they STILL make car products after all these years!

really cool video it'd be even cooler if they showed how parts get to their sponsored riders like packing or do some of the pros come in? etc

+Josh Nicholson Definitely. A lot of it is just shipping via UPS, but that side of the business would be pretty interesting. They ship A LOT of product all over the world ever year to customers, distributors and shops.

I won't ride Profile due to poor quality and customer service, but that was a cool video nonetheless. I work in a factory, so I respect this side of the business.

It's always great to see the inner workings of a legendary company like Profile... however I couldn't shake the feeling that if this were a factory in Taiwan, you'd *never* hear that broken record sentence, "This machine isn't running right now". :/

Haha, totally agree. Love to see the side of a company you might support, but really don't know beyond their products, team and marketing. That broken record statement was definitely a bummer. Unfortunately when we were able to coordinate a time for Brett (filmer) and Matt, it was during a slow period of the week when not as many machines were up and running. Obviously they're a much smaller operation than a company in Taiwan creating products for multiple brands across multiple industries (even within the cycling industry there's so many different categories).

BMX Union For sure. I guess I just want to see people value domestically manufactured products enough to start filling those order boards at companies like Profile. I think we're seeing it start to happen though and that's definitely a good thing. Heck, even Kent has brought some manufacturing of (undeniably horrible quality bikes) back to the US. 😂
