I am very curious, - pl can you tell me where did you get these details from sp since you say the hujra of Hazrat Ayesha (ra) has been sealed for centuries ? (I have heard from a reliable and sober Pakistani Civil Engineer who has worked in this mosque for 35 years before retiring that the graves are accessible to a very select few. The hujra proper is inspected by Engineers (usually Egyptians during his tenure) yearly for seismic cracks and maintenance. Engineers go inside for yearly inspection after putting on special suits to avoid contaminating the place. )

irfand4 yes all of the things you asked are done regularly.. by a family that live in masjd nabawi itself for hundreds of uears years. they are eumuchs themselves, and are also auliya allah in thier own right. JazakAllahKhair for the enlightening article. It seems the Govt denies that the graves or burial area can be accessed but I have heard that they are regularly inspected and maintained. It makes no sense to just seal up the chamber of Hazrat Ayesha (ra) and leave it without maintenance for 6 centuries.
