That’s true but you gotta start somewhere and I give Newsome some credit for at least trying to get CDC in shape and focus on rehabilitation instead of mass incarceration ! I did 14 years straight in CDC ….05 to 2019 and it was for my first felony , the system was so overcrowded when I came in it had a population of 180,000 ! They were triple bunking inmates in the all the prison gyms, double bunking single bunk design cells and forcing everyone to accept cell mates.They were at 138,000 in 2019 when I left and the difference was night and day on how things were starting to run and Now they’re at 96,000 last I looked ! And some governors have never stepped foot inside San Quentin or any other prison so …

I was skeptical at first.. it’s a thing about touring a prison like tourist going to see Alcatraz…pass..BUT I salute Shawn being from the ice 🥶❄️The dialogue surrounding the town was important and it was unapologetic Town Bizz on his behalf and bro behind the walls. When you put people in there the first thing that happens to them is that they get pulled into a gang that is has to do with the race either they choose to ride with their race or they do not and if they do not they're going to get beat up in there there's no such thing as freedom when you get locked up in prison it's another person within a prison You know the truth. They know when you go in there people pull you to the side and tell you you have to ride with your kind. You have to ride gangster when you're not a gangster you still have to do it and you're up 24 hours 7 days a week. Nobody goes to sleep in there. There's no peaceful transition. Nah, he’s dealing with the societal consequences after decades of systemic segregation and racist real estate politics of the 20th century that prohibited non-white people from owning property in certain areas of the State, which excluded them from realizing the benefits of generational wealth. Compound that with years of fiscal neglect in the most marginalized communities of the State and the problems only got worse. You can’t talk about the problems of California today without acknowledging the systemically racist policies of the past.
