I knew a dude down at the Maryland State Penitentiary back in the 90’s that had wall-to wall carpet, a fucking AQUARIUM with a pump and live Tropical Fish inside his cell. I didn’t get along with the dude too tough so I never saw his interior cell, but I saw the light from the Aquarium and could see the edge of his carpet as I walked past his cell on the tier. I almost NEVER went in another man’s cell- In 14 Calendar Years behind the doors, I think I’ve visited the inside of, at most, 35 different cells, and these were always, ALWAYS occasions where we were all cool with one another, both myself and whoever’s cell I was visiting, but also their respective cell buddies, I never liked hanging out in another man’s cell. By the same token, in all my years in prison I’ve only entertained guests in my cell maybe 15 or 20 times, at the very most, and you’d best believe these cats were damned near FAMILY to me; in fact, on three different occasions, they actually WERE family to me!

In Folsom I was there June 2, 1982, during the riot between the Mexicans and blacks. 18 people were shot or stabbed. Now days it’s level 2 and there is violence but nothing like back then. Big Homies and AB were still on the hardline. Back then is when I got all my strikes waiting for the 1990s three strikes law. Then I had C47426. 1990s it was H52940, Calipatria and Lancaster level 3 & 4 yards. Calipatria kept jumping with cop shootings inmate. CDC flipped Calipatria A yard. Stop the riots. Remember we went on lockdown then years or more not 30-60 days. I got a three strike case in 1999 I was out 5 months, back with 25 years to life at Ironwood for 12 years the Soledad for two. Got out on October 31, 2013 with the change of the three strikes law. Ironwood we had a riot every two years. Not as violent as Folsom or San Quintin in the 1980s because of the way the building are built no blind spots.

Theres alot going on here. Seems it's a group of young men and a film crew visiting San Quentin like a Scared Straight type deal. It gets real hectic in the cellblock , you can see movement still happening around the crew. At 10:30 the dudes at Quentin had me laughing. It was way easier to catch prison time in the early 90s. Keep in mind of the shots inside the Building, that is a 6 story tier with a gunner on the opposite side. At 14:14 the brother in the background is yelling "I'm a parole violator, I'm a drug addict, I'm not getting any help, I'm on my release date and they are gonna release me to a drug area...." Man that ripped my heart strings. Feeling helpless in jail, getting out knowing you gotta support a drug habit with stealing and gonna . San Quentins released inmates would always end up in the TL and blow they're gate money on dope. Bam, back to prison. That feeling of helplessness is the worst.

It is a good idea to have handball volleyball tennis racquetball definitely 🏀 basketball softball throwing the ball people should have a catcher's mitts animals to throw but it should be an offence to get caught doing dips pull ups or weightlifting not fair to The working Man who pays for everything and breaks his back and doesn't get to work out

It's hard to believe that are representatives are allowed to provide workout equipment and muscle building equipment let alone allow exercising there should be no weightlifting and no working out only walking

In California The working Man is so busy trying to survive and pay for everything it seems there's not even time for common sense like being able to write a letter to our legislature suggesting taking out all the muscle building equipment in the prison play should not be a gymnasium

The pull-up bars and dip bars should be removed from the facility no muscle building, I see the inmates playing tennis that is a good idea handball tennis racquetball are good teaches them to interact together

How is a man supposed to be rehabilitated in that madness, two men in a cell can't even stand up together at the same time. I have no sympathy for murders but not everyone in prison is a violent offender.
