Phil, you are a great spokesman/ambassador for Sound United. I’m a consumer but have watched multiple videos so I could upgrade my system with confidence. In December I received my Denon X8500 HA. With the addition of my ten new in wall surround speakers (fronts will change according to the wife acceptance quotation), our home video experience has changed dramatically. Phase 1 has been everything I had hoped it would be. Also, first quality stereo system was a Marantz. So I have 40 years of sweet music and now home theater connected to Marantz and Denon. Yesterday I learned of the Billion Dollar Sound United sale. It likely too soon to know, but I look forward to hearing from you about this transaction. How does a medical device parent company connect/integrate with the Sound United? I don’t suspect a billion dollars was spent in order to chop up the company. But what does the future look like for the individual brands? Is R&D money going to be shifted to debt service? Will innovations currently in the pipeline make it to market? Or will the pipeline be downsized due to new fiscal constraints? Time will tell. I hope you get to keep telling us about great new innovative gear!

Am curious if the denon 8500ha dac change makes it sound worse

I just bought a Denon 4700H, have it in pre-amp mode, and it is connected to two Emotiva BasX A7 amps. I have my speakers set up as an Auro 3D 7.1.5 setup, though only have centre back connected in speaker setings, so 6.1.5. I will use preset 2 as a typical Dolby Atmos.DTS. I played a 13.1 bluray disc of Twister that is in Auro 3D, but it doesn't play the centre back channel, even though the 4700H can play 11 channels. It only outputs 10.1. Would it be possible in a future firmware update to address this, so that SBL can go to SBC, like it does in speaker config, and I get an Auro 3D 11.1? FL, FR, C, SL, SR, SBC, FHL, FHR, SHL, SHR, TC.

Hmm, thank you for going through all of this information, but I just want to ask will Denon/marrantz, eventually add support for hdmi 2.1 48 gbps, so we can make sure we are prepared for when a source, and games actually support that data rate

Hi, I know it’s not the subject but I’ve had an mcr 611 since they came out. Air play has always failed either by stopping/ buffering sound or not connecting at all. At times I have to do quick set up several times a day. This has been a problem since out the box with internet from 10-300 mbps. Maranta told me there isn’t a problem and it works fine. Not correct Regards Andy

What’s your feeling on expensive interconnects and speaker wire I have not been able to hear a major difference if I heard any just need your opinion and I’m all Marantz separates on a VR short note 1956 I was working in electronics store in New York and who walks in the door so Marantz enjoyed my opinions and asked me to come and give them my reviews of the quality and sound of Marantz and at that time I had 2020 hearing perfect I learned I played an instrument so I know it

They always seem to miss some mark like why can't my remote for the AV8805 pre/pro be programmed to also control my Sharp TV or Phillips DVD player? Their technical support suggested that I find a third party solution! More bucks!

Just video reviewed the Marantz Pm 8006 that Phil told me almost 2 years ago would pair up with my Polk lsim 703 Phil i am blown away check me out ! I have the Marantz 2270 also 😃 pics on my community page. also pep the Pm 8006 intgerated has amp input that you can use for Home theater bypass to pair with your Marantz HT reciever front L/R preouts for more power to your front speakers I paired to my Marantz 1403 and ohhh my !

The HDMI adaptors are a great fix for the AVRs. Denon is providing one for my 2019 X3700H, only issue is that Denon customer service tells me it will take @ 6-months to receive it ... so I'm 2-months into an @ 6-month wait.

Be careful about the new devices after the price hike. I got a 7706 and the HDMI ports WILL NOT play Dolby Vision, go to 4:2:2 chroma and play above 8 bits!!
