There are two malls there. The one you went to(Guanghua Market) is the older one with smaller stores. Syntrend is the new one. They are connected by pedestrian overpass too .

Great Video, I'm from Australia, I visit there every 2 to 3 months and have since 2019 and I visit Guang Hua area every visit ( tragic I know, cant help myself ) , Ground floor is mainly retail Laptops, Drones etc, great prices,, only downside is that all laptop keyboards are English/Chinese language engraved. Mondays is normally the slow day of the week,, many stores don't open or open really late on Mondays as, its for many, their day off after working from 11am to 10pm Tues to Sundays. ( Saturday and Sundays are very busy ) Its a great place to pickup a bargain in computer parts. The 5th Floor is mostly service dept for major manufacturers of memory, storage, laptops,. the floors 2-4 are the floors for a huge variety of computer parts, screens, tools, video extras ( tripods, lights etc ) projectors, printers, memory, storage, Chinese TV Boxes, cctv, routers, switches etc etc. Some Test equipment ( multimeters, etc ) but if your looking for all kinds of test equipment ( Multimeters, electronic components, oscilloscopes etc) There is a multi floor underground building with everything in test equipment, its close to the digital Plaza building but closer to the local MRT Station ( Zhongxiao Xinsheng - Blue Line ). If your looking for white goods and more of a retail experience, the building next to the Digital Plaza building is the Syntrend - Samsung building, its a must for many devices ( such a huge range of goods - wont even try and describe ) you just don't see in other parts of the world, also in this building you will find anime, collector figures and variety of other goods in the upper floors, its a great place to find that little something as presents when you go home. If your looking for Cameras, SLR, lenses etc there are some stores near the local MRT station. If you go there, set aside some time ( 6hrs or so) for browsing, note that if you want food, there is a food plaza below the Syntrend building with good variety of Taiwanese and Japanese food, and some restaurants up on the top floors of the Syntrend building, my favorite is the Japanese Teppanyaki store downstairs. Hope this helps, Oh one thing,, when using an escalator in Taiwan, its polite to stand on the right if you plan to not walk up the escalator, this leaves the left side for those in a hurry ( this is especially true when using the MRT, TRA and HSR transport services :-) ( most of the stall holders speak a modicum of English, Taiwanese are really friendly, (some stores will offer a discount if you ask )

The selections at this shopping mall remind me of Fry's Electronics. If I was living in Taiwan, I'd probably be going there often for my electronics fix.

This is great, but if you've never seen anything like this, you should see Tokyo, particularly Akihabara, where the whole neighborhood is dedicated to electronics. However, when I lived in Taiwan, they had great electronic stores, and I could buy Taiwanese made computers that were top notch but much cheaper than buying "brand" names, even though they built many of the brand name computers. So if you see things more expensive, you can find a Taiwanese made item that isn't "branded" that will be just as good or better but cheaper. If you were looking for refrigerators and appliances, they have different big stores for those.

Enjoyed your sharing of visit to electronics mall. Thanks. Question - what day of the week was your visit? I'm wondering if it is more crowded on a Saturday. Looked pretty dead for a huge shopping mall. Thanks again, brought back many memories for me of vendors from decades ago from building computers and going to computer shows on the weekends. 😊

The reason why the majority, if not all the electronics are cheaper are usually because the product gets shipped to other countries from Taiwan (because Taiwan makes the CPU chips inside the laptop/computer) and the west needs to pay off the shipping cost and make profit.
