I asked a local representative some years ago during the planning phase of this project about the possibility of adding rail service as part of the mass transit discussion. She ignored me.

Look at the number of semi trucks in that footage. Railway tracks would knock a whole lot of traffic from the roads, and knowing that many are coming from NEC (north east corridor) and the growing megalopolis just south of Virginia, rail lines would take a lot of vehicles off the road also.
