I’ve lived in upstate NY my whole life and a few years ago moved to Texas. Seeing this mall evolve over the years was part of my childhood and seeing it mainly abandoned now is a wonderful example of how quickly time flies by.

That one was the bath and body Works. It’s still open today and moved up to what was the RadioShack on route 31 by the target

Amazing Video Alex! It’s crazy how even after 1 year of closure, a place could be falling apart this much.

16:10 this one was Spencer‘s gifts. If you look up old mall video commercials from this mall, you can see the old Spencer’s gifts in the commercials.

11:46 this one was Hollister Hollister was a renovated at Destiny mall, but it did eventually look like this in the past until it got renovated. But just one definitely was the old-fashioned Hollister store and I don’t know why but there’s some like stuff like if you were gonna do a stage that was left behind in the stuff that was left behind in there at one point so that’s why if you see some theater stuff or some random stuff in there it was from the theater company that was storing their stuff in Hollister

24:09 this was the Gertrude hot chocolate store. It became a seasonal chocolate store when it moved up to Route 31 but then it never lasted and went out of business. You can still get chocolate at Destiny mall.

14:26 that was Christopher and Banks women’s store. My friend Jeff had a friend name red who used to work here and she said this door closed down because I had ceiling damage so they went down for renovations, but their renovations never happened. While they were on their renovations, they went into the FYE store and they were unboxing all of their merchandise and getting it ready to put back on there newly renovated shelves and then corporate called and said we’re sorry. CJ bank is going out of business. Do not continue with your renovations. Do not restock your store sell everything off and go out of business and so I think they sent everything over to the Destiny location when it was over in Destiny, and they just sold all their merchandise off that is why you see the clothes hangers because they were about to put everything back on the hangers until the company went out of business and they were never able to finish their renovations because they ran out of money and went into bankruptcy chapter 7 bankruptcy.

I have no idea what this one was originally but I know it was formally billed carpet. Bill‘s carpet is over in Cicero, New York. They had two locations this location and then the one in North Syracuse Cicero area.

4:25 here is what I know about the food court. In the middle, there was a Dunkin’ Donuts that went out of business starting off if you’re coming from the Sears wing on the left-hand side, I think it was an orange Julius lemonade stand, or it was some form of lemonade, stand next to the pretzel place. Then there was the pretzel place that I saw crappy old videos of this mall from back into 2000 and I could see a very very blurry bell from Taco Bell. The video was so blurry I couldn’t even make it out, but I saw the yellow bell so I knew that was originally Taco Bell back in the day. Next to the Taco Bell was the arcade time out at the pier arcade. It was originally time out arcade, but then time out, changed its name and changed hands. I guess towards the end to at the pier arcade, which in my opinion made no sense because there was no peer in Clay, New York. The closest pier would be Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool so I made no sense why they named it at the pier arcade but it went out of business anyway and I was so sad to see that place get shut down as it did and watch everything be torn out of there it was so sad. I went to that arcade right up until the end when it closed when the mall closed. Next to that was regal Cinemas movie theater it closed because of the pandemic, we went into lockdown all the regal Cinemas in the area, regal Destiny regal shopping town and regal great Northern shut down for good and the one and only remaining regal Cinemas left is in Destiny mall as shopping town mall permanently got shut down and went out of business and as we know, this one also went out of business leaving Destiny the last one, but since Destiny reopened, we got her Destiny 3-D cinemas so we lost the old-fashioned Regals from shopping town and great Northern but we gained a regal 3-D Cinema at Destiny. Next to that was the friendly restaurant. I went there over the years with my friends and we had lunch and I remember going through the Macy’s and coming across and going to the Friendly’s. Next to that where the wall is that was a McDonald’s. There was a tutor time daycare center in the mall which I went to as a kid by the Sears and I remember Payless shoe source being across the hall from it and the thought was that parents would go in by their kids, unhealthy happy meals and not feed their kids. Good food at home so they decided because it was unhealthy to shut it down next to the subway and I don’t know what the gray part was but the red part was a Arby’s at one point and then the Sabora pizza shop until it got the name it has now and ended as a pizza shop next to the pizza shop is a JB Robinson jewelers JB Robinson has been closed for many many many many years long before the mall even closed long before the mall even got bad and started losing tenants. The food court of great Northern Mall.

6:43 this one was some calendar store towards the end, but you can tell this was a FYE store. Now, FYE did come back into business. Surprisingly FYE was at one point at Destiny mall back in the carousel days, but then it went out of business and then it came back into business at Destiny mall so you can go and visit FYE at Destiny mall today 2024 I was surprised that FYE died and was born again came back alive at Destiny. It died at Destiny and it was reborn at Destiny surprisingly.

17:30 that one was the Bonton store and then Abel driving school, which I have no idea what that one even was why even looked the way it looks and then CJ Banks had an entrance on that side of the mall, but then they for some reason, shut it off and no longer use that side

And I never saw the wrestling rink open I never saw anybody in there. I never saw it. I never saw it operating when I went there, so who knows if it was ever open

8:06 this one was the shoe department this one I think was H&M because we go on the outside of the building there’s H on the building so I believe this was H&M back in the day but then shoe department took it over and then the pandemic shut it down and then it moved into the piano and organ store by Sears. As you can see the roof had damage so obviously the pandemic like I thought wasn’t the reason why it closed it closed because of the roof damage and moved in to the piano in Oregon store
