Today AD is welcomed to Toronto, Ontario by the inimitable Matty Matheson for a tour of his newly opened restaurant, Prime Seafood Palace. Not your typical lobster shack, The Bear star worked with architect Omar Gandhi to imbue the dining room with a stylish, timeless feel, where warm tones and sinuous furniture compliment his menu's hearty offerings.

This is one of my favorite episode yet. Matty and Omar are so proud and excited about the place. Such good vibes!!! So nice of Matty to bring the designer for the visit. In 1986 I lived in the top floor apt of the building next door to this restaurant. It was 940 1/2 Queen St. W. My two roommates and I would climb out of my bedroom window to go on the roof of Matty's restaurant. We had no other private outdoor space so this was all ours. We would usually sun ourselves and drink beer or wine of course. The usual stuff 21 year olds do to be adult like. I think the building use to be a garment factory. Not sure. Was very nice to see how lovely it all is now.

This restaurant is incredible, it’s so refined I absolutely understand why it took 6 years. The Asian and Scandinavian influences perfectly complement each other yet.. it’s clearly a freakin diner! I’m obsessed with the booth tables and madly jealous of the pots and pans. True art is balanced and the beauty of this restaurant is perfectly balanced with the beauty of the food and the beauty of the experiences people will share here. Congratulations! It gives me such joy that Matty mentioned how long it took for the design and completion of this restaurant. I'm assuming Omar's office designed the base building and the interior? Regardless, a 6 year collaboration with designers, carpenters and engineers is what it takes for good quality. Let this be a lesson to anyone pushing creatives to do quality quickly.

This gives off a homey but elevated and sophisticated take to a restaurant- I can picture how it would really come alive full of costumers sharing conversation surrounded by rich food aromas. So impressed with what Matty and his design team pulled off here. Love the vibe, love the functionality (or the appearance of it) and the amount of care and intention placed on this. I work in the AV technology space, and I'm always blown away of projects like these that don't leverage the auditory experience elevation with this type of space. I work with some chefs here in Vegas and I absolutely love when they pay this level of attention to detail AND take into account the opportunity to elevate the experience with amazing audio, lighting and video if applicable.

It’s pretentious but the bathroom at fine dining restaurants actually makes a difference. You’re often there for 2-3 hours and will definitely use the bathroom so it needs design elements too! Matty and his designer did an excellent job on this place.
