As a guy that deployed, these guys are joke. I've only watched 2 mins, but I'm not 100% sure any of these guys were even combat arms. The lack of uniformity of gear set ups to ensure things like medical kits being in a single location, so every warfighter knows where to go when they need to 1) scavenge 2) provide aid 3) find mission critical gear. They look like air soft LARPers that realized they could scale and sell lessons to kids. They have cringe names on their website like Thanos, Nomad, and Breeze instead of normal call signs like Dog 6, Dog 2A or Dog Actual. The Triple Canopy (formerly blackwater) guys I served alongside with had nick names like "Contractor Pants" or just went by nicknames like Fred instead of Fredrick. Their gear is barely used based off of the wear and tear. I've seen security guards with more time in their kit than these clowns. A lot of the illusive courses they've taken are pretty typical for a deployment spin up. I myself have taken CROW, Electronic Warfare, IED, SERE, counter UAV, route clearance, MATV, etc training. You wanna know something wild? So did every other soldier in my unit. These classes are jokes that sound impressive when we rattle them out, but any other vet has done it every train up cycle to our collective pain. If you are looking to join these guys don't the only work they'll get is protecting an apartment complex if that. If you wanna actually go overseas check out Triple Canopy (US) and Reed (England/Africa) those are the only two I know from my time in Afganistan and both pay terrible unless you get on the specialized contracts which these clowns wouldn't qualify for at the same level they try to portray. All and all it looks like a camp for cringe dudes to live out their fantasies since they left the military after their enlistment. Its cool that these vets want to try and start a company, but the fact that they're misleading people is sick especially for people that actually need qualified individuals for contracts like VIP extraction, Executive protection, and static security. All of which I would only trust them to be static guards. There's also a lot of young guys. In my experience, "mercenaries" security contractors are in their 30s since when they got home they couldn't make it in the civilian world and wind up back in the sandbox after a time. This isn't meant as a diss but the harsh reality of selling your rifle to someone tends to be a solemn last resort rather than a first choice pick.

From what I just researched, Academi (formally Blackwater/Xe Services) did defunct in 2014. They merged with Triple Canopy, Inc. to form Constellis Holdings. Constellis, from their website, seems to be a conglomerate of different security companies. So in a way they did defunct just come back under a different company.

"Inside the deadly world of gun nuts with overexaggerated resumes." Airsoft-quality gear. Bottom shelf-quality weapons. Morbidly obese 'shooters'. Most of the plate carriers aren't sized and positioned right. No plates in half of their carriers, to include 'Joey'. Your 'recon' guy is running around with a shotgun instead of a long-barreled AR or DMR setup. Vague comments about how hills 'remind' him of Afghanistan. E&E exercise: First thing we'll do, run in an open field, and talk real loud. The enemy will never find us that way! "Waterboarding" by gently placing a towel over their head and pouring water on the top of their head. Doesn't work that way. "In about five seconds your lungs are going to start collapsing." 19:14 - Joey flags the cameraman and who knows how many other folks on the line with his handgun. Unloaded or not, that's an immediate no-go. Any legit company, or shooter worth their salt, wouldn't have stood for that. What a bunch of absolute clowns. I wouldn't trust them on a one-way flat range, much less an actual combat situation. These dudes are the opposite of mercenaries. If folks want a real look at how actual modern mercenary work is done, they should read 'The Modern Mercenary' by Dr. Sean McFate, and listen to interviews of Dr. Dale Comstock, an ex-Delta operator who went and did actual mercenary work in the Middle East. Real mercenaries, like the dudes who fought in the Congo, Rhodesia, and with groups like Executive Outcomes and Blackwater, wouldn't give any of these morons the time of day. These dudes? They're just a bunch of LARPers who have lied on their resumes and are probably living stolen valor.
