Something I've never noticed before, but I think they put some of those shaky instruments from the Forest Temple very very lightly into the background at certain parts

Perhaps, but I can't say for 100% certainty. Now, the Deku Tree music believe or not only consists of two warm pad instruments. However, the Forest Temple has a warm pad instrument in its instrument set as well along with the voice chant and wood chimes. But with Koji Kondo being the genius that he is, I wouldn't be shocked just what he could produce with limited instruments.

The 1997 build's level design is much larger and blockier than in the final game, and what we ended up with is arguably much tighter and easier for newcomers to pick up. Unless I'm mistaken, the prototype's story went that Link had to rescue fairies within the Deku Tree. I'd assume the smaller, dead-end rooms which littered the dungeon likely housed the distressed fairies, and that saving them opened the way to Gohma's lair.

I heard they polished up Ocarina of Time because they saw what Banjo Kazooie looked like as Rare was making it.

@@millenniumenvoy8114 I wouldn't be surprised, Banjo Kazooie is one of the best looking games in the N64 library. Thought at the same time, it could have been EAD giving themselves more time to refine the experience as best they could. This was the first 3D Zelda!

@@bigmanbazzaaa That's just what I was thinking too. It seems that several beta elements that were ultimately skipped in Ocarina of Time were brought over to Majora's Mask.
