Mexican baseball has always been solid and the second best and most stable league in the continent but its still growing massively.

The stadium and the facilities look amazing! Definitely a big step up from the Foro Sol and the Fray Nano (temporary stadium they had when building this one). Although not the biggest one in Mexico (Monterrey's and Culiacan's are bigger), it's the best one.

Gracias por el comentario hacia mi país... pero esto me recuerda a cuando Colón dijo que "descubrió" América, pero pues América ya tenía civilizaciones miles de años antes que llegara Colón jajaja... el primer beisbolista mexicano en jugar MLB fue contemporáneo a Babe Ruth, Mel Almada en 1933... el primer latino en ganar un champion bat de MLB no fue cubano, ni dominicano, fue mexicano, Bobby Ávila en 1954...el primer juego de MLB fuera de USA, fue en Sonora, México en 1940 Piratas vs Atléticos... El único pitcher en la historia en ganar en el mismo año Novato del Año, Cy Young y Serie Mundial, es mexicano, Fernando Valenzuela, fue en 1981.... El roster de México en el WBC del 2006 era mucho mejor que el de 2023, pero el beisbol es así, a veces se gana y a veces se pierde, y el de 2006 tuvo menos suerte, aunque una de sus victorias fue al USA de Jeter y compañía... México es el único país que tiene beisbol profesional todo el año, al contar con liga de verano y liga invernal, la liga invernal incluso más fuerte... México en los últimos 10 años ha remodelado el estadio "Palacio Sultán" de Monterrey y construido 8 estadios nuevos con estándares de MLB, el último el Alfredo Harp Helú construido hace 4 años... pero el mundo a penas lo está "descubriendo".

@@vnietov La primera vez que dos equipos de la MLB jugarían fuera de los Estados Unidos, fue en la capital sonorense, Hermosillo, el domingo 31 de marzo de 1940 a las 3 de la tarde. Fue un juego de pretemporada entre los Piratas de Pittsburgh y los Atléticos que en aquel entonces eran de Philadelphia. Ambas novenas estaban conformadas por múltiples superestrellas del momento. Y no sólo eso, venían leyendas en los cuerpos técnicos. El manager de Atléticos, era el Hall Of Fame Connie Mack, y con Piratas venía como coach, otro Hall of Fame, el magnífico Honus Wagner. Los equipos se trasladaron en el Tren Sur-Pacífico desde la ciudad de Tucson, Arizona hasta la ciudad de Hermosillo, Sonora. El juego se llevó a cabo en el emblemático “Casa del Pueblo”, que fue ampliado para 3,500 personas, sin embargo afuera del recinto quedaron miles más sin poder entrar. Llegó público de todas partes de Sonora, inclusive de otras partes de la república. Tal evento fue cubierto por la prestigiosa revista Sporting News y fue transmitido por radio para los estadounidenses, narrando el locutor sonorense Jesús Astiazarain completamente en inglés. El juego lo ganó Filadelfia 8 a 7 y los peloteros comieron una deliciosa barbacoa hermosillense.

These new baseball stadiums are now veining better than the new or remodeled Mexican soccer stadiums well a few. Wats crazy is all the baseball stadiums use the best seats from the u.s. like Yankees and so on while most of the soccer teams in Mexico still use the cheap unfoldable seats. My point is soccer has the most money yet it seems baseball is catching up and by building small like mls they’re able to spend less but get more in return as the stadiums aren’t 45k or 70k so they can afford all these amenities. Very happy for them. This is only good for both countries it brings competition and games

Went to see a game last july and it is truly a great stadium and environment. I think MLB and MILB need to learn a bit from Latin American baseball to make it more exciting off the field and bring more people in the stadium. Great video!

That is a lovely facility. I love all the incorporation of art and culture into the design. Ignoring capacity I would put this above pretty much any MLB stadium in regards to design. And OMG the food towards the end. I want to go to a game there.

The stadium was financed by the company Grupo Carso, owner of the stadium and the local team. In fact, Carlos Slim, owner of Carso, and is the richest man in all of Latin America. It was really insignificant for him to spend that amount of money on the stadium, and if been quite profitable, the stadium is always completely full in the LMB games, which is the Mexican league.
