Parisianne walkways : Blue - it’s like coming of age from boy to man Let’s go crazy : White - the purple one is a sin just by looking at it, let alone stare at it. Otonal : i prefer the high neck style of the 2nd one but i like the design of the 1st one Origin : Black and Purple equally stunning esp up close where you can see the intricate design Seimei : ver. 3 - the design and style fits perfectly including the gold waist band Ballade : ver 4 - that shade of blue colour really suits him plus the neckline artwork. Also nothing beats the all black UA costume during practice. Simply mesmerising.

Even if he has this concept of " less is more", he still has the most sophisticated outfits of all male skaters...I loved all his costumes during time, they all added a personal note to his routines. The only one that I guess was not a good choice, was the white costume from " Let's go crazy". I was a liitle shocked when I first saw that routine, because of that too white costume, Yuzu had almost ...no legs . ( the ice being white, was so hard to see those parts of Yuzuru's body dressed in a sparkling white).

1.0 Almost entirely light (ish) blue. Black sparkly belt. 2.0 Deepest used blue. Almost entirely white around the neck. Same belt. 3.0 Light blue in a similar gradient of 2.0. From what I see is that the 1st versions are usually are really pretty as is own. Like as an art piece but it doesn’t compliment the person wearing it as much. It’s like- how can I say, the costume is the highlight instead of the person wearing it. The 2nd (+later designs if there are more) versions would be tailored and changed into becoming Yuzuru’s. It make him shines more even though the costumes might not be as “extravagant”. He’s in his element more and instead of looking at the costume like he’s a model and just wearing it for showcase, it became HIS and only for him. Anyways I love all of them and love your channel. Ps: like I said before, Nathan’s stylist, we need to talk. America, do better. He deserves more justice.

I love his costumes and my favorites are: Parisienne walkways the blue versión, Otonal 2.0, Origin 1.0 (that black one is awsome), SEIMEI 3.0 is my favorite costume and favorite rutine so far, is such a beautiful music and the whole rutine is awsome!, Ballade 4.0 is my second favorite, it is gorgeous also. And then there is the Masquerade costume and the Romeo and Juliet one both are in my list also.

Ito Satomi's way of making costumes is unique and very interesting! When creating the costumes for Honda Marin's Turandot, the choreographer first requested a gold costume. This piece usually has blue costumes, but Ito felt that red would be best since the story ends with passion, so she suggested it! Marin loved it, and that wonderful red costume was created! Uno Shoma's Turandot is in blue, but when I traveled to Rome, Italy, I imagined a church with blue columns and gold ornaments, and the sky gradually getting lighter before dawn. I also find Higuchi Wakaba's 007 very nice. Mirrors are scattered all over the costume, and the image of this is that of Wakaba, the spy, shooting a glass window with a gun, and as soon as it breaks, he jumps in and disappears. From the enemy's point of view, the broken glass sparkles and splatters. Interestingly, the story told by Ito is not all that the players who wear it are aware of, but it is a complete story of the costume alone! There are many episodes in the other costumes, and it is fun to think about what story Ito imagined when he saw the costumes! And the reason she chose to work making costumes is Asada Mao. She is a big fan of Mao. And she has a dream to make her costumes. She hasn't fulfilled that dream yet, but she said that if she could make Mao's costume, she would die after being so impressed, so it better not come true! lol

Yes I knew that. He participates not only in the designing of costumes but also the editing of music. Once one of the music editors said that he was surprised when Yuzuru pointed out a tiny gap between a "second" in the sound. He said that normally even a music composer or editor wouldn't notice such a small "almost unnoticeable" gap. Yuzuru is a born skater, but the beauty of his skating is a complete reflection of his native ability to sense a music sound, artistic expression, aerial movement, changes of environments, including colors and energy around the rink.

Yeah, I still remember the FaOI rehearsals 2018, when Yuzu said to the pianist, Shinya Kiyokuza: 'Hey, nice finish on the black keys.' And Kiyozuka was like: 'Wow, you heard that?' Usually he played that part on the white keys and was surprised that Yuzu noticed the difference by just listening 😅

I wonder if anybody has noticed this: during the Seimei program, when the drum made two sounds "ban, ban," Yuzuru spreaded the right arm, then the left arm, matching to each "ban" respectively. The movement was perfectly matching to the drum sounds, and such an exact "movement" made all the audiences excited more, which was the natural reaction to the perfect show of music or theater show. After having witnessed this perfection of the musicality and the skating, I never doubt his natural "sense" to detect any music tone or tune to match his skating to the "T". I can see that when the music tone changes, he jumps or lands from a jump, or starts spins or steps, and so on, flawlessly and seamlessly without breaking the music flow.

Every costume he wore is stunning but what makes it more mesmerizing is his body proportions and how he skates with it. Sure some skaters would look in his costumes but the way yuzuru delivers the art of his costumes throughout his programs is what makes him so unique. It's not just a piece of clothing made so he could look good in his programs but rather a work of art he carries as he skates. He skates with such elegance and delicacy, something that's rare to see among men. That made me love and respect him even more. Thank you to the designers especially Ito Satomi for creating Yuzuru Hanyu's legendary costumes. Though I'm not very good at English, I hope I put my thoughts well into words.

Yuzu's Notte Stellata (The Swan) gala costume is just so beautiful. Like it literally fits him perfectly and I could not imagine a more suitable person to fit that costume. Plus his skating during that gala is just *magnificent* oh my god

Yuzuru Hanyu's costumes are a stunning part of the symphony he creates with all the features of his performance. His skating has such beautiful phrasing, to borrow a term from music. Any musician who produces beautiful phrasing breathes life into the performance of the music. When Yuzu skates, every movement is in synch with that music. I love how he analyzes how the costumes will also perform for him! They have a job of underlining the performance, accentuating spins and loops, adding to the fluidity, keeping the viewer's eyes glued to Yuzu. One has the feeling we're participating in a piece of the Divine. Being the first Japanese male to top every competition he enters, he has drawn from his unique self, beautifully integrating his culture and its spirituality into Sei Mei. His other interpretations touch our humanity and make us weep because we feel it so deeply through him. Other skaters have not yet been able to know themselves as well as him, so their work is a product of other people who trained them and as a result, superficial. There are few figures from history who have been able to express their unique spirit through their art. I can think of only a couple. I think we can't take our eyes off him because we hunger for beauty after some ugly times on the planet. We look to him, to remind us that beauty will lift us to places we need to go in our minds. Thank you for such an informative video on the creative process behind costume design. The designers are virtuosos in their own rights and deserve appreciation for creating excitement for the viewers! :D

羽生さんの衣装は毎回似合わない事がない。どんな衣装でも似合う。男っぽいのはカッコ良く、エレガントのは女神のように。私はどっちかというとエレガント派で、ひらひら、キラキラが大好き。オトナルは01、オリジンは02が、天と地とも大好き。今季はSPをガラッと変えるらしいのでまた楽しみです。

Mucha gente dice que sus vestuarios se verían mejor en una chica pero como yo lo veo el vestuario que usa Yuzuru se conecta mucho con la música y presentación que esta haciendo. Son hermosos y adecuados, la ropa no debería de tener género y solo deberían apreciar como encaja en cada programa. PD: Me encanta como Yuzuru le pone atención a cada detalle y no sólo en esto

Spot on! These costumes only work on Yuzuru's body really. There's an interesting story about it - that a Japanese media borrowed his outfit for a show series, but when it appeared in the show, it's hang on a normal hanger, not fitted on a mannequin (which looks a bit unprofessional). Turns out Yuzu's body is so unique (between men and women) and those costumes can't fit on a normal mannequin, hence the awkward way of showcasing the costume.. And fans were like "Remember to borrow also special mannequin when you wanna showcase his costumes next time yo.." :P

Haha not to shade other skaters but it's really true. Yuzu just has this special aura when he wears those costumes..Think about it, maybe it's because he paid so much attention in every detail. Every bit of that costume reflects his hours of thought and hard work behind. Some might not like it and some even propose for all figure skaters to wear a standard uniform like gymnasts... It's like.. eeeww to me.
