Just seen this video and I saw Chris first time when watching The Kio Whisper on his visit to Japan. I thought that Chris was a member of the group and could talk Japanese . Now I know I was wrong. Loved the video and the information. Thank you.

I subscribed and was happy I did, this gentleman is so knowledgeable. Hope is daughter is now totally healed and doing great! Wish he could ship me a few internationally to the Caribbean, they would have to be tiny ones as I would want to raise them and grow them out. Does he sell on Amazon he said? Totally enjoyed this video! Thanks for sharing guys!

Another interesting and informative video, Joe, thank you. A good pace and length, with time to appreciate the characters and motivations of your guests. I have a rather random question for you about your very clean pond balls. Were they very new when you made the video or is there a factor in your water management that is inhibiting algal growth. I'm in my second winter season with them now and again, they're looking pretty grotty again, as I wait for consistently warmer temperatures to remove them. Also, mine are under under a polycarbonate canopy keeping off the elements too.

Hi Alistar, I believe a lot to do with that is that I starve my fish from any pellets from October onwards, so the algae is eaten by the Koi. If they’re fed, the balls will quickly regain algae as their appetite for algae is less. Hope this helps and thanks for your comment, might do a video on my pond if people would find it interesting and insightful

Thank you Joe@@TheKoiPerspective As a beginner keen to learn, what temperatures are you running over the winter to not need to feed?
@TheKoiPerspective8 ай бұрын
Hi Alistair, I was at 12c from October and they’re still at 12c. I’ve started feeding to regain small quantities of body mass before raising the temps. But I have never suffered with blanketweed with this method either, and skin lustre from all the natural food and algae spirulina is a benefit, not to mention the cost saving

All the relationships in the world will be irrelevent in a few more years as the middle east and china pay more and the breeder could of really relied on your trade but the person paying more will always get the fish

Its always the case in every industry, but I understand your point. There’s enough koi to go round aside from UAE and China! 😃
