I'm a middle class singaporean but its not that big of a deal to go to Marina Bay Sands' Infinity pool. You also don't need to be rich to buy stuff at Ion Orchard, the prices are considerably higher but you can find branded goods all over Singapore, not just exclusive to Orchard.

megan mercado it really isn't a big deal at all to go MBS infinity pool. It's no big deal to stay there for just one night and enjoy the pool experience, it be another things if u are living in straits suite 6k SGD a night for a week.

megan mercado I didn't. I pay SGD450 for one night. It was to celebrate me and gf's university graduation. To you maybe but not for others who like the scenery and can afford to stay there. More power to them.

Lim is a Chinese/Korean last name. They weren't celebrating the child's 99th day. They were celebrating his 100th day. 100 day celebrations are a big deal in Chinese and Korean culture. While the party she threw was truly extravagant, it's not something out of the ordinary to throw a party for the event.
@aiying2070
@aiying2070 6 жыл бұрын
Lauren S Actually over here, you don't typically celebrate a child's 100th day, but rather a month-old celebration meant to introduce the child to friends and relatives. Lim is definitely a Chinese last name in this case :)
@armagaeddon
@armagaeddon 6 жыл бұрын
Lim is a Chinese last name, predominantly seen around South East Asia due to dialect group, never Korean. Koreans usually go with Lee and Taiwanese, Lin. Also, celebration of 100th day for babies are more often among Taiwanese or Chinese Nationals, not in South East Asia, and definitely not common in Singapore.

Kuci Kucikuku You don’t have to be jealous to have an opinion. If you’re flexing your wealth it does show you haven’t got much else going for you, and it does come across as pretty vulgar. A lot of very wealthy people would agree, and for that reason don’t flaunt their wealth.

I am broke and that taught me not be to overly materialistic in life. As long as my basic day-to-day needs are met, I am as happy as those rich folks in your video. If I were as rich as them (which is highly unlikely), I would be busy helping the less fortunate (in my country and around the world) instead of flaunting the wealth on non-practical for show nor functional items. In fact, I will be doing good on the quiet and have fame fright.

Most of the people who buy those houses you mentioned(Sentosa Cove, GCB) are not Singaporeans. Yes, many of the richest are but a lot of those houses are bought or rented by foreign expatriates and their families who often work for multinational corporations based here as executives for example.

I am a middle class Singaporeans and honestly those rich and famous Singaporeans are mostly sucked up and bad attitude, like they are the kings and queens of the world. But please don't hit the whole boat with a stick cause many others I met are well behaved and compassionate. A piece of advice to those who are having the high attitude of characteristic - the flower will not be red forever. I seen some rich people went down and had no friends after that cause their sucked up attitude made them enemy of all. May the LOVE be with you always!

Okay but the word “fancy” and “rich kids” is overused as f*ck here. Also, I’d just like to state that all the samples they used here were frickin gaudy instagram posts. The infinity pool belongs to MBS, not the dude. Cars are expensive, but middle to mid-upper class usually own one or more. A lot of the material used were stock photos, and people generally don’t even care what brand you’re shoes are or what you carry and adorn yourself with here. Jeez, we’re pretty relaxed and not all about the big houses and fancy clothes. People just wear slippers out for dinner and not post pictures of them all over instagram. Could I just add that rich people do not automatically have the mindset of “we have all the money in the world to spend, no need to save”? Those who are rich do care about education and send their children to prestigious top schools, public, private or international. Even so, the most hardcore flaunting you see there are just along the lines of “got the limited edition Nike shoes in right now!” or “switched to a new wallet, got bored to that old Coach one” (yeah I have a friend who pulls this sort of stuff every once in a while) which is honestly not that bad? Not too the level of ridiculousness you saw in like a handful of people’s instagrams but yeah, sure, whatever you say. Clearly Talko did some quality research.

C'mon,Singaporean rich kids is overrated,like:"Oh,she has a 50-karat diamond ring and necklace!She lives in a bungalow near Changi!"No,most of us is NOTTT.Singaporeans live in high-rise flats,and not landed property.We can go to ION whenever we want!We don't need hundreds of money to go!I pulled Peter Lim's dog's fur when I was like3,and he had freaking bodyguards around him and my dad thought that his dog would bite me because HE WAS FRICKIN LARGER AND TALLEE THAN ME.AND IT WAS AT A LOCAL PARK.NOT A PRIVATE ONE.My point?We all work hard and the stress is real.I'm having a test that basically decides my life this year!So if you think it's extravigant,think again!We all struggle to reach expected grades to live a life,not as cool as you thought,eh?

In Singapore , some people think that if you live in “bigger” houses . Like a terrace , bungalow etc. The people think that of ur live this those places , means you are SUPER rich. Not true. Like me, I live in a terrace house but the price of it was 1m. Now , it’s 5 million dollars ! The bills can go up to $1000 and sometimes $2000. It really isn’t easy living in Singapore. Especially if everything is so expensive.

You may not be "super" rich, but you are rich, there's no disputing that. Simply the bills you pay are more than how much many people earn in a month. To these same people, a million dollar house is a pipe dream. You should be grateful for the home you own and not lament the hardships, but appreciate the privileges you have.

Don’t compare and be happy, we in Sg live sos much better than so many in third world countries. Also think about this way: they are just earning undeserved money from their hardworking parents,

from a middle class worker. if they are so rich why do they still need to take a bath, poop and pick their nose? i can also do that. so i think we are all equals. all are decaying bags of flesh living on borrowed time.

Sojourner ofcursedearth ! If they were really that rich, they should hire someone to poop for them...pick their noses for them, per for them...etc. I totally agree with you.

To think homeless cardboard boxes collecting elders still roaming around in spore streets its pathetic.. To think for each rich kid if they can collectively built homes for these homeless elders life will be a better place for them... If only the rich thinks of the unfortunate n share their wealth this world wld be a better place for all regardless of ethnic race language or religion... Temasek58

They chose to embrace competition and were taught by the wrong people to not have mercy on their enemies and competition, CAPITALISM is a strong endeavour and perceived as a mandatory only strictly in their heads, thats DIVISION between the minority and majority

They earned it though! wtf..... people needs to change this kind of mindset stop blaming people for being filthy rich coz they earned it instead of ranting it all out on them why won't you build your own empire and start helping those people you say? ugh so done with this shit

But for singaporean still easy right? I hear they have minimum salary 4000 sgd each month, so buying food 5 or 6 sgd is easy with soya bean 1 sgd.
