I’ve said this before and I’ll keep saying it. We finally have OUR coach. It will go down one day as the greatest hire in the programs history. And yes there could one day be a statue.

Being a Illini alum, I can appreciate Coach as a human being. I have a story to share. My wife and I live in Colorado. We drove to Nebraska in 2022 to attend the Illinois-Nebraska football game. The morning of the game, my wife and I were leaving our hotel room to grab brunch at the Haymarket center when we ran into AD Josh Whitman after his daily run. We were talking to him for a few minutes, introducing ourselves. While talking to him, Coach Bielema was coming out of the same hotel and introduce himself to us. We appreciate how much impact both men had on the Illini football program. We asked for the four of us to pose for a photo, and both men obliged with one of the student managers coming out to take a photo. My wife, who is a Colorado State alum, could help but being impressed on what a regular guy Coach Bielema was. We'll never forget the moment; it really made out trip memorable. I-L-L-..
