There’s so much to think about in the run-up to Maybe being a 1st-round pick on the big night that they probably don’t spend a lot of time training for the phone procedure if they Do win at life and get drafted on night 1. It’s just funny and cute and everyone thought so. He’s gonna be a great Viking.

See Vikings fans didn't believe me when I said they had Mekhi Blackmon really high on there board they talked about taking him at 87 then Kwesi and Kevin talked about if he would make it to pick 102 because they said we have to survive 8 more picks to get Blackmon and then early on day 3 they were in love with Jay Ward because of coaches from LSU on the current staff they feel like they got guys that were overlooked. They plan to make Jay Ward a Nickel which is really what they need eveyone keeps saying Byron Murphy will kick inside on Nickel but if they can find a solid nickel he won't have to it gives them more options to fill holes. I hated the 2022 draft except for 2 picks and this draft Kwesi and staff were much more prepared and I love what they did this is gonna be a good class plus the UDFAs they got 3 of them I thought were going to get drafted so I'm happy with young talent they are bringing to camp now it's about development

He’s not the HC or the GM. Coordinators aren’t ever publicly presented as draft participants. It’s officially a front office / personnel dept / GM activity, and HCs are shown as coaching-side consultants. It’s how it’s always been. That’s part of how a “head coach” is more than just one of two coordinators.

He wasn’t a ditz. He’s a sharp kid. They weren’t necessarily clear about the process and these kids are often surrounded by rooms full of excited people, and a respectful person would know that they’re very busy on draft night and assume it’s going to be a quick call with followup later. Even on TV they’ll rarely show someone talking to a bunch of people, and I doubt a lot of 22-year-olds have watched a ton of draft calls in their entirety. I don’t think you need to worry about it, but you’re welcome to.
