Wonderful piece of music so eloquently explained. Thank you so much.

Here is intuitive identification with the composer's expressive voice, allied to highly perceptive musical analysis, building and extending the tradition of Antony Hopkins's BBC broadcasts which I so appreciated as a youngster - all presented with captivating enthusiasm and natural communication skills. Thank you for such enrichment!

I was completely captivated by Dr James' talk which made the music speak to me. Thank you. I'm very proud to be a part of the Hall family.

TY for helping with some great musical & historical analysis. It's interesting that you avoided the Ralph Vaughan Williams as ambulance driver & war observer as one interpretation albeit he wrote it in 1914 then finalised it in 1920. I like the war observer interpretation: 1. Early Lark representing innocence & frivolity. 2. Battlefield reminiscence of Welsh & English Folk Songs representing homesickness & 3. Late Lark representing the ascent of a deceased soldier's soul. Your passion & intellect shined thru in your presentation. TY

I can say it here anonymously It makes me well up uncontrollably. And. No one who knows me would ever know this about me. Its nothing you’d expect of me at all 😆 But it absolute kills me. Every time as well. So much so. That if it ever comes on. I have to turn it off

An amazing video! I was wondering, how does one get their pieces by orchestras at the Bristol beacon

Glad you liked the video Louie! Did you mean how does one get their own pieces played by orchestras? That's not usually something we offer, however there are a few ways you can get in contact about creative work. We run a range of community projects throughout the year, for more information on these email community@bristolbeacon.org. Currently we're taking submissions for A New Song For Bristol bristolbeacon.org/a-new-song-for-bristol/ Or you could get in contact with our programming department via programming@bristolbeacon.org

Sir you’re exceptionally good at explaining music! Although, personally I would also like to hear a bit more about harmony. Really good explanation nonetheless!
