You could say being in NBA isn't a job (which it is...), but the mentality of just putting your head down and getting to work isn't there. Remember, most of these new players ain't coming from places that they had to struggle in their life. Take Kemba Walker for example. He's from New York (The Bronx to be exact). NYC isn't an easy place to live, especially where he is from. You have to work to get where you want to go. He has improved tremendously since he got into the league. To the point that he is a top ten player right now and is in consideration for MVP.

Being a pro athlete is a grueling year-round process that forces you to stay in peak physical condition so you can keep your spot. What defines a "job" isn't what you do or what you get paid. FAN BOi The NBA is a job being first off you have to be qualify. Then you have to be wanted by the company of Organization. You’re talking about a free application like every real job in America has the same rules on how to get the job. NBA is literally one of the most physical demanding jobs in the world, and one of the stressful jobs because out of 6 months of the year (the season) your work performance is Displayed for everyone to see and criticize and many people would criticize you directly if you have a bad game. You have a bad day at work you boss may know about it but your boss doesn’t have 1,000’s of people saying cut this guy get him out of here either. So that brings lack of privacy in your daily life normal working people wouldn’t understand. And the NBA season is 6 months. These guys practice year round. Sure they might take a trip for 2 months but minicamp/training camp starts in July and the season just ends in May. And a day at practice is probably harder than a day at work. Sure it’s a game but the shit is very physically demanding and that’s why they get paid so much because must people can’t do it. They can’t go thru a whole off season. To even get in the league you have to be qualify which most people aren’t. And a team has to want you over millions of other people trying to get a shot in the NBA. Grow up kid.

Stockton didn't even rest during the off-season, so when the season started back up he wouldn't have to get back in shape like a lot of other guys struggled with. Which makes sense when you see that he played 17 full seasons of not missing a single game. Charles Barkley was genuinely starting to get emotional talking about costing another man his job, and how that affects their family. That's real respect for your fellow man, especially coming from someone who has said many times over the years "I've never had a job and I don't want one". And I have zero belief in my heart that KG really meant what he said, as well. That man is a certified maniac about basketball, and he's talking about "we come from a different era, practicing after a back-to-back, blah blah blah". Rest and Recovery are the Yin to Competition and Training's Yang for an athlete. You need both to succeed, but if your team isn't cutting the mustard, it's rarely because you're not rested enough. That toll unfortunately tends to manifest in the form of injury, which can be avoided by load management, but losing by 50+ points? Even if you're PLAGUED with injury on the WHOLE roster, the opposing team can still send out their bums to give their stars a rest, so to hear KG parrot this weak shit from office goons MAKES ME FUCKING SICK. We can all be working harder towards our goals and dreams, but rarely do we have a metric in life to determine our personal progress. Sports do, however, offer several criterion for measuring skill and success - because men lie, women is, but the numbers don't.

So, I know there is layers to life not a cookie cutter fix for everything. I was injured on my former job over a decade ago just trying to make it through college while working full-time and going to college full-time. This steel company I worked for took me through it when I got hurt on the job (I called OSHA multiply times about unsafe practices.) and at the end they filed for bankruptcy my attorney stated my lawsuit would not result in me getting justice (us getting the bag) because of this fake justice system in America works for the Corporations not the people. So, I have some an idea what it is like to have been done dirty by a company but I am still OK and I still take pride in my work because I have honor, respect, and pride in my work whether anyone else does or doesn't.

John Paxson is a man who punches his coach and then sweeps the incident under the rug, in an incident that would've gotten any other GM fired. He's a man who hires Gar Foreman to act as as puppet GM to take all the criticism for him, while he pulls strings behind the scenes in secret and without accountability. This is a man who has kept his unqualified useless brother on the payroll for over a decade. This is a guy who once had the toughest, hardest working team in the league and would still constantly undermine them by questioning their toughness in the press whenever they were injured. This is a man who passes on great players and coaches because they don't fit some bizarre idea of "Bulls culture". This is a man who blamed Derrick Rose for not being a good enough salesman when free agents gave the Bulls a pass, instead of taking responsibility himself. This is a man who tried to recruit spies on the team who would secretly report back to him everything that the players were saying among themselves. This is a man who spends more time time covering his own ass than trying to build a champion. This is a man who makes excuses for losing, rather than making a plan for winning. Say what you will about Krause, he was a man who was willing to put everything on the line -- including his own job -- to build a championship team. John Paxson is content to play it safe, keep his job, and to build a team that will win 46 games every few years so that he can keep his job. Fuck John Paxson. That dude should've been fired five years ago. And since you keep asking this question in multiple threads, I'm gonna answer you in multiple threads.

I wouldn’t want to practice on that team either but I also wouldn’t want to sign with a team that’s known to have an awful front office. The fact they paid Lavine shows that. He’s not a star. Charles always says the league needs to keep more old guys around to teach incoming players to do things the right way like Moses and Dr. J taught him and he’s right. I know it’s hard to waste spots with the cap but I think it’s important at least for young teams.

I’m a Bulls fan and I have to say... Gar/Pax needs to go! We are NEVER going to win a title with them. 15 yrs in the front office and only 1 ECF!? N that was with our best coach n player since Jordan and Phil... Chicago is Home and we take pride on our sports teams and I believe we as a city need to put up that billboard again and make sure it stays there! If anyone is boycotting this team, it has to be the sixth man... the FANS!
