Sounds great. Let the Bears pay for 100% of the cost. If they threaten to move if the taxpayers don't pay for it, well, let them move. This is a 4.7 billion dollar rip off for the taxpayers. Did I say 4.7 billion? By the end it'll probably be 6 billion. So let the Bears pay for it

@Angry_Peanut_52Ай бұрын
The Bears themselves cannot cover the entire project. The McCaskeys are not as wealthy as people tend to believe. Compared to other NFL owners, they are near the bottom in terms of net worth. They are only worth $1.3 billion, which is mostly, if not entirely, made from running the team. I favor the Bears covering 100% of the total stadium cost, not the remaining infrastructure. The proposal includes year-round retail shops, recreational facilities, and food and beverage outlets, along with a hotel. A good portion of state funds goes toward such things, so any profits generated from those businesses should go toward repaying the state, even stadium profits, until the debt is paid off. Once that is settled, stadium revenues would go to the Bears organization.

An impressive plan for a soon to be impressive team and a great marketing podcast. But yes, there's a hole in the financing. Rather than filling the hole with some form of profit-sharing public fund shared with the city why not create a publicly traded, or privately auctioned vehicle, open to all interested investors, fans and not fans alike. The vehicle would share in all revenues generated by all the facilities of the project. Chicago deserves to have this sort of groundbreaking architectural phenomenon.

Here is what is wrong with the stadium design for Chicago. It is exactly like the stadium for the raiders. If you are going to build a stadium, don't have it look like another stadium. The other issue, parking. Where you build the next stadium wipes out the parking that the old stadium had. Now you have no parking. Another issue, it's a pain to get to that location and a pain to get out of there. Besides that, having a stadium with a roof, no. We have always loved having football be played in the cold and we have had memorable games in soldiers field and it has worked to our advantage. Best location for the stadium is Arlington Heights because they have plenty of room for parking and everything else they want to have. Chicago really doesn't have that much room.
@MegaLomanic_Builds24 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your detailed thoughts! 😊 The design of the new Chicago Bears stadium has definitely sparked a lot of discussions. The comparison with the Raiders' stadium is interesting, and you bring up valid points about parking and accessibility. Arlington Heights could indeed offer the space needed for expansion and easier access. Let’s see how these considerations play out in the final design! 🏟️
@anthonybudas672924 күн бұрын
@MegaLomanic_Builds oh yes, go look at the video demo they have for the Bears stadium be in Chicago and then look at the raiders stadium. It is exactly identical. Instead of a torch, Bears would have George Halas statue right there in its place. The shape, design, and color of the stadium and all the glass is the same as raiders. If you are going to build a stadium, have the Bears George Halas in the outside of the stadium in concrete or in glass like 3D and have it look like he is greeting the fans or giving a yell so when you see it, you are fired up to cheer your team. This stadium should be navy blue and orange on the outside and look massive on the outside and have like a massive shoulder look to the stadium just like the people of Chicago with our broad shoulders because we work hard for our city. It should have a blue collar look to it and when you see it, you know you came to see the Bears put on their hard hats and go to work for the fans just like the fans go to work for Chicago for the love and beauty of our city. I just want this stadium to have grit and toughness but without the roof. Inside can be modern but the outside gotta have that grit and toughness and fight.

If a new stadium is to be built, it will be in Arlington Heights or maybe another suburb. Staying at the current lakefront site does not allow the McCaskey's to own the stadium, which is the whole point of a new stadium from their point of view, because it greatly increases the valuation of their franchise for when they finally decide to sell the team. Why should they invest $2 billion into the cost of a new stadium project on the lakefront that the city is still going to own? All of this is a ploy to get the city of AH to greatly reduce the tax burden that would fall onto the McCaskey's from them building in AH, and to also have the city of AH and cook county pick up some of the costs of the infrastructure construction around the stadium, while the McCaskey's plan to pay for the actual stadium itself, themselves.

If the Bears organization pays for it without the use of public funds then sure. They are asking Illinois and Chicago taxpayers to fund a stadium that the average income citizen will probably never be able to afford to go see a football game, and if they do it will be nosebleed seats and snacks they can’t afford. They’re being asked to foot the bill to build a stadium for a team that doesn’t win championships or divisional titles. They’re being asked to pay even more in taxes to a city/state that is barely financially responsible. The people behind the project are posing a question that doesn’t make any sense since soldier field is already a venue that hosts a variety of events; the Chicagoland area has plenty of venues to round out the year round schedule. They’re trying to fundamentally change the way football in Chicago is played, outdoors on a well maintained frozen field. The only people this new stadium benefits is the team owner and the fat cats the get contracts to build it and the elected officials who get the kickbacks for permits and lobbying. Go build that monstrosity in Arlington Park and let Chicago lure a third baseball team to soldier field, they’d earn more money in on season of baseball than an entire season of bears football and would only need to minirly reconfigure the existing stadium.

I am a Packers fan, and don't really care if they build a new stadium or not. But in my opinion, it will be lame if it is not in the downtown, and if it is indoor. Downtown Chicago is one of the USA's top city skylines and urban centers. Yeah the democrats are running it into the ground, but at least is still has the cool architecture. Don't do like the 49ers and build your stadium in a different city that the team (so lame). Also, while not being as lame as a teamed named the Vikings playing inside a cozy dome, still not cool if the bears play on carpet inside. Have some grit Chicago, keep it black and blue division. When I think of a bear, I think of a grizzly on its hind legs, roaring with power. If they build a dome, then I will think of a care bear hibernating inside its fluffy dome.

I totally get your point! 🏈 Placing the new stadium downtown would definitely add to Chicago's iconic skyline. An outdoor stadium keeps that classic grit of the black and blue division alive. 🐻 Let's hope the Bears preserve that roaring power vibe and avoid the "care bear" feel! 🌟

Why build in Chicago, the Bears will not own the stadium, parking, go to Arlington heights better then Chicago, ownership and parking too. Plus more Suburban go there the city.

The new Chicago Bears stadium upgrade is focusing more on creating an incredible fan experience inside the venue. Parking and nearby dining options are often addressed by the city or surrounding businesses, so stay tuned for more developments on those fronts!

NEVER going to happen unless the Bears pay for it all. I suppose they paid for this advertisement as well.

You need to win a playoff game before begging taxpayers to fund another stadium 😂😂😂

The Chicago Bears' move to Arlington Heights is definitely a hot topic! 🏈 It’s clear that public funding is a sensitive issue. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Build it. Let the Bears pay half, and taxpayers pay the other half. Stop your whining, my fellow Chicagoans. It'll be ok.

This stadium is a digital hallucination much like the team in general. It will never be built.
