I enjoyed the tour of Gallagher Iba Arena. It doesn't look anything like it did when I went there as a freshman recruit back in 1957. Our freshman class included Lew Wade, Dick Soergal, Dennis Walker, Jack Hollingsworth, and a few others. Those names may or may not be familiar, but also playing during those years was Eddie Sutton (a junior) and Mel Wright (a senior). The Cowboys beat KU that year in Gallagher Iba Arena when Wilt Chamberlain played for KU. Yes, there is a lot of history in that building. Mr. Iba was the coach and Sam Aubrey was the freshman coach. A lot of water has gone under the bridge. I still think about how I spent 1957.

As a kstater I’ve always felt okst was our mirror twin. Okst has Outstanding offense but usually gives up a lot of points. Kstate usually has very solid defense but struggles to move the ball.

That revenue goes back to the program (of course) but when a locker room has 50 flat screens and a bunch of arcade systems, while other departments are often canned, you start to wonder why can't they disburse the $$$
