To everyone comparing any political ideology to a cult: STOP IT! Dividing us further can do only harm. By definition a cult requires a 1984 level of control practically unachievable by a political party. Religiouslike devotion is not a cult. It's faith and we all have it towards one person or another. When that person is a political figure that's more dangerous but also more meaningful and we should be honest with each other about that.

What's the difference between a church from a cult?
@YassenChapkanov7 ай бұрын
In general a church doesn't exercise the strict control necessary for cult formation. It's still a community with heavy social penalty for disbelief but the priest doesn't take away your ID
@ryanellis57776 ай бұрын
A cult has an active leader that demonstrates strong , potentially harmful leadership who is often the center of their worldview and operation. A church can worship any idea or figure, who is often either dead or absent (Jesus). A church also lacks the authority to control the lives of its inhabitants while a cult often directly enforces it, turning from "social drama" into direct control over someone's life.

I just will never understand why humans worship other human beings. You have God. Why do you choose another human being?
@bobbullethalf5 ай бұрын
Because we have a subclass of humans that feed on other weak and needy humans and there are several million in the planet.
