Do you pour your aluminium at 740°c after melting down ingot? Only thing i can see a flaw in the process is 1. If one bit of water is in them molds or land in that laddle then the fella pouring might aswell say bye to his eyesight if ally goes in his eyes, 2nd. Does the ally not cool down causing inconsistencys in the final result due to pouring so many at one time? Only reason i say this is due to working in a foundry making aerospace parts and been taught about aluminium pouring etc. You have a lovely set up there Pete, i only say all this to maybe aid not discriminate

I had talked at length with them. The facts are they are able to teach your instructor stuff. Except it is proprietary. The metallurgy they know is deep. Those questions about shrinkage are all covered by serious mathematics, that they grasp and use.

Wohhhhh im not knocking any part of your process, i worked in a foundry for only a year and was just asking some questions out of curiosity. Stuff that was drummed in my head while working in the aerospace industry i merely just put foward to yourself as my knowledge is minimal. Please dont think im trying to tell you the difference between right and wrong, im far from being an expert. Iv bought multiple catapults from pro shot, never had any problems.
