Thank you for this good report. At the time as CARINTHIA VII was launched, I started to take in interest in large yachts. Great comments from Tim Heywood and the reference to PELORUS. Two all time icons in yacht design, at least to my personal taste. It had been a nice treat as CARINTHIA VII did enter the sales market for the interested observer finally been able to see some of her interior. Which to me was perfect - on the basis that she was a great example of a private yacht with very limited information available basically over decades. It is understandable that a 20-year-old vessel requires upgrading when the new owners are planning to go commercial with her. The designers, so the yard surely did a very good job in their executions. But as others here in the section also commented: I somewhat prefer her overall appearance before the transformation/refit.

Several years ago, I was in St. Maarten wit my husband jet skiing and our tour guide took us out and we toured Polaris and what an outstanding yacht! I will never forget seeing this vessel. I can only imagine how this Carinthia must be. ❤ 🤗

A new instant classic, well said! Liked the original very much, but this is one top class refit with style and a lot of impressive art… well done Team L!

A fascinating update and peek inside one of the most beautiful and iconic, motor yachts of the modern era. I have to admit however that for me personally, I would prefer a more traditionally "classic" interior, if I could ever have afforded such a vessel. Alas I have Not inherited a chain of supermarkets worth billions, as I believe the former owner, the late(?) Heidi Horten, did...! LOL.... To each their own..

About 20 years ago, we saw Carinthia VII in Antibes. It dwarfed the yacht Virginian and other yachts in the marina.

Stunningly gorgeous, curious the know what the value of a refit is vs new build, in percentage without taking about the time restraint.

I liked her old interior a lot better 😕 But when you decide to charter, I guess you have to appeal to 'the masses' and a 'modern touch'. She used to be so special (and yes, deliciously old fashioned), and now she looks like all the others, sigh.

Stunning boat. That heli pad looks a little awkward but i guess if thats the worst thing on the boat then its not too shabby.

It is very sad to see conversions like this (Nero is another), where once there was a unique and beautiful interiour, now reduced to a sea-going Marriott, catering to people with more money than taste.

That is a particularly interesting sundeck architecture.

Lovely yacht. The mechanical refit was critical in extending the useful life.

That was way too much chat, and not enough of the interior. Having said that, from what I did see, I think they took something classy, tasteful and luxurious looking into something that looks cheap, cold, bland and boring.

Hey, when Billionaires fart in bed, they pull the covers over their nose just like the rest of us.

This is just sad. A once quirky and unique yacht now just looks like any other. Sure, the old interiors were a bit naff, but this is worse: it's boring. Give me something truly unique and mental like the Freedom (ex-Reverie) any day over this.

Justin keeps going and looking out the window in the main salon...for who? I don't think they're coming buddy. Sorry.
