Fontevrault, in France was the burial place of the Plantagenet dynasty who ruled In England and large parts of France from 1154 to 1485. At one time there were fifteen Plantagenet tombs- only four remain.

Interesting but incomplete. You did not talk about Henry II and Richard I both being buried at Fontrevraud Abbey in France along with Henry's amazing wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine.

The video says Victoria was the last royal buried outside of the two main sites, then briefly mentions Edward VIII as if he was not just as "royal" as anyone else listed in the video.

8:29 what is controversial about RIII burial in Leicester Cathedral?
@mfteperaКүн бұрын
There was disagreement about where he should be reburied. Some thought he should be buried in a Catholic church. Others in York Minster. Ultimately he was buried in the nearest Christian church to his original grave.
@rivenoakКүн бұрын
@@mftepera York Minster was his personal wish in 1485, but as it was not catholic anymore upon reburial it was off the table. the situation was a bit weird because all the rites enacted by the Archbishop of Canterbury were ofc null and void so they let the catholic Archbishop of Westminster attend

A few too many basic errors here, for instance John’s grave was not moved, the building was enlarged meaning his position within it changed. Several others and looseness of terms such as William I being ‘repatriated’ to ‘France’’ and subjective opinions on how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ particular monarchs were. A shame as it had some potential.

No royals interred at St Paul’s?
@mcarp5558 сағат бұрын
Nope. The old St. Paul's (before the great fire in 1666) had some Angelo-Saxon royal tombs, but they were all destroyed in the fire.

Ke-nutt?! Really, if you can't pronouce "ke-noot", you shouldn't really be narrating history videos. There's a phonetic rendering of his name on Wikipedia you could have consulted for heaven's sake!
