I had an old hook-line grinder in the '70s that ground the reel to the profile of the bed knife, since the bed knife sometimes would lightly curve when it was tightened back on to the machine. The standard back then was to adjust the clearance so that the machine, when tested with two pages from a phone book would cut the first page and leave the second page only marked or un cut. :) My grinder cost me $100, used. I see that now you can spend $6K on one, easily. NICE video! congratulations....Joe

@@wcbscout no kidding? I'd love to see progress on those projects. My greens mower McLean needs some TLC, one of the brackets is bent so the reel drive belt sometimes comes off. I keep putting other projects in front of it.

Professional Video Hector, but most of this golf course mechanic don’t know what u even doing here.Because most of them get hire from who they know and not what they know especially in Connecticut golf courses.

How do I find a local shop that can do this? I'd rather not ship three reels across the USA....and back again!

I read, reel type cut was invented in 1800 to cut shag carpets to even cut, then moved to cut the golf greens. started for sale in America in 1905. but who knows, can't believe everything you read.
