Any interview with Ian Boswell is filled with insight and images of a world that most cyclist can only imagine. Really enjoyed it like a great meal.

Seems to be the same mindset of every person I know in Vermont. Ian’s been blessed. Ironic the name of the podcast is the hard way. Family is his priority now, nothing wrong with that. Its nice to be able to make that choice. Great interview. Ian is easy and honest to to speak to. Another one of his talents.

Like your idea of self support at aid stations. Interesting idea.

I would be shocked if the company providing the race insurance does not mandate a separate finish chute for the elites. Just imagine one of the top guys sprinting for the finish hitting a tired 50 mile rider as they weave a little bit. The injuries to both could be catastrophic. The story of Kristina Vogel gives an idea of what can happen. I love riding the same course that the pros do while they are out there. The whole idea of sharing a big day together is awesome. Sometimes rules are there to protect everybody. I think separate finish chutes would help with that.

Some bike nerd is going to invent a mud clearing device that bolts to the fork/ frame and make a gazillion $$$. Just watch...

Ian. Fixing your tin roof will never be as fulfilling as riding your bike fast. Throw a tarp over it and ride fast for as long as you can. In your case this is at least another 20 years.
