@@InsideChinaAuto That might be somewhat of a blessing in disguise; I've worked as a fireman in the past, and while we think mostly of fiery blazes the majority of the incidents you go to are road accidents. There is always going to be bigger and heavier objects in traffic to impact with, lorries, lamp post made of rigid steel, etc. I wouldn't want anyone traveling I love travel in those nasty little tin boxes we had back in the 1990s.

@@InsideChinaAuto How many stations are there where they can switch the batteries? I guess it's less than 1/1000th of charging stations and people are still complaining about not enough charging stations. This approach is complete nonsense.
@InsideChinaAuto Жыл бұрын
@GunterZochbauer Nobody is really complaining about not enough charging stations here, though in Germany I understand the situation is quite different. The simple thing with this system is that you may have to queue behind another user swapping their battery but they'll be done in 3 minutes then you go in and you're done in 3 minutes, 0-100% charged. With this model you also don't own the battery, you rent it, so you have no concerns over warranty and you don't pay that upfront cost. It's not perfect, but it's a viable solution that hundreds of thousands of NIO users are using today, and in Beijing a lot of taxi drivers too.
