While I don’t condone it, I can understand how the family members of victims feel. I can’t imagine how it must feel to lose someone you love, only to see the person responsible standing in front of you.

Let’s not forget the infamous Larry Nassar case when the father of three of his victims asked the judge to lock him and Nassar in the same room for 5 minutes. The judge told him “no” for obvious reasons, so the father impulsively tried to physically attack Nassar himself (and ofc, he was tackled and forcefully restrained by officers)

"Sentenced for attempted battery" wasn't even to do with him leaping at her. It was his previous charge he was there for the first time. The fact the judge didn't add on any jail time for assaulting her just goes to show what a hero of a judge is. Didn't let her emotions get the better of her which is crucial in Law and Order

That’s not how it works. The judge can’t sentence the attacker to anything for assaulting her. She sentenced the defendant to her original sentence for whatever charges he had in that case. The case of him attacking the judge will be a separate case. That case will be heard by a different judge. The judge that was attacked is the victim in that case. She can’t also be the judge for that case.
