A 65-year-old wallet was found behind a wall inside a Georgia movie theater. Floy Culbreth lost her wallet in 1958 while on a date with her husband Roy. They went to see “Around the World in 80 Days.” along with her ID, the wallet contained lots of photos of Culbreth's loved ones, which included her son and daughter. Although she died in 2005, the wallet opened a window into a beloved mom's life from long ago.

common sense much? Its not the quality of the wallet its more the place it was in ,pretty much sealed no moisture, rodents or cockroaches etc that can destory the whole wallet.

This reminds me of a similar story a few years ago, where a teenager girl's purse was discovered under her high school's auditorium stage. It had been there since the 1950s.

@OdakaMemeing Someone else on this thread, mentioned a similar story, where someone found a purse or wallet behind a high school locker, while remodeling or replacing the old lockers. They gave it to the girl's children. One thing they found inside was a stick of gum.

When i was renovating my 3 bedroom flat in London earlier this year i managed to find so many things like cigarette boxes from the 60-70’s. There was also pieces of newspapers but the main and probably the most important thing i found was really old coins. We British people use pounds now but back then it was things like crowns and shillings. It got me into coin collecting i have a massive collection now. There was also a painting signed and dated 1975, the artist was a Jewish man who lived in London as is still alive today!

She might have just been going to the bathroom & needed her hands free. :) My Mom almost forever-lost a ring that way-took it off to cook, tucked it behind a pipe so it wouldn't fall, then found it in the nick of time on the last walkthrough before the house was sold. :)

So, to clarify, that room wasn't always blocked off. It used to be the closet in the managers office. What most likely happened was that someone found it and handed it to the theatre, and the manager put it there and forgot about it. The closet was then sealed during a past renovation, and it wasn't rediscovered until the collapse of the adjacent washroom wall. This is from an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

My Mom passed in 2020 at 93. I was going through her things when I sold my house. I came across her wallet, her WWII ration book, a small notebook and other old documents. I even found a handwritten note to me telling me where her important papers were. Just seeing her face on them and just seeing her writing just turned the floodgates on like 3 years hadn't passed since she left us. I get how that lady's kids felt.

The story makes it unclear at first and seems like it was literally tucked in a tiny hole behind a brick, but from 0:15 it looks like a small area of the bathroom was sealed off. I'd guess that the bathroom used to have a powder room at some point and maybe that small sealed off section was part of it.

@@RobertDW1 True, I'm guessing maybe it was a bit of a lazy renovation job though? They mention they found a lot of old rubble behind the sealed off wall, so maybe the renovators demolished some stuff (maybe the wallet had fallen behind some sort of furniture/counter they were dismantling) and then they just sealed off some of the rubble instead of removing it/sorting through it?

This is amazing! In 2018 at my high school there was this locker that had been locked shut for about 50 years and no one was able to figure out the combination to open it. One day, the school decided to finally open it by removing the locker door, and old text books, notes, papers, and even music records from the late 60s or early 70s were found. It was so cool and a true time capsule. After that, the locker got a new door and lock and some students put a few items in there for the people at school to open in another 50 years.
