I don’t think a move back to Europe will mean much of anything. I think that the MLS is frowning in such a way that if he were to stay in the US, he would achieve “legendary” status and kind of become immortal, like our hero’s in Europe. I know it sounds insane. But I really believe the future of football is here in the MLS.

What support are you talking about? I was a huge fan and wouldn't be searching for his highlights (I searched to get here) if I don't still have high hopes for him. He played safe timid football; always a busy bee, asking for the ball just to recycle like Arthur Melo, never taking any risks, no bold adventurous pass; only sideways and backward passes until Pedri emerged. Didn't take his chances. Still hoping for him to become a star.

Puig mostly played sideway passes during barca carrier which xavi didnt liked..he should make more direct passes he did nothing to retrieve the ball....thats what his weakness in his game..

Sorry,but Puig used to be the only one at Barca who was able to put something unpredictable on the pitch. Also he used to be one of the best player when it came to holding the ball. It was nearly impossible to take the ball from him without faulting. He earned more free kicks than Messi when he got the chance from Valverde. The side passing game started under Koeman and still goes under Xavi. Puig used to be the only one who took risk and try to operate with lobbed passes behind the defensive lines or a strong passes between the defenders and he used to make the wingers run behind the defenders quickly with long balls. That’s why he wasn’t popular,because he skipped the casual way ( first pass to Messi,than pass to Messi,and after pass to Messi) . He always looked for the one who was in the best position,not for the one who had the biggest name on his shirt. This days Barca still building they attacks super slow. If the opponents sit back they have no clue what to do. Xavi have no plan for that. Puig used to force one on one’s,take ons … Xavi loves to let the ball go around for 20-30 minutes before they try something…..

Fati dare not dribble or accelerate (1v1). Xavier still give Fati minutes in most games ... Fati is off market sale now. Xavier did not give the same opportunities to Puig ... (i.e Jutgla, Abde etc) .. no ??

@@novice4648 we cant compare puig with fati.fati was a star before injury he deserved minute ..even though fati lost his dribbling he still got good intelligence in movements and where to be in game he lacked goal which very surprising considering how good was he before that.xavi used him as a second stricker than winger to who doesnt needed to dribble because he lost it..but considering puig there was lot much competition with pedri gavi and dejong arrival..and for midfielder u should also very aggressive off the ball ..how can three managers be wrong..

Things are different when he would face real madrid , man city , bayern and teams with strong physical and technical presence. We have all seen Puig play in a lot of matches, we know is a good player but barcelona has pedri, gavi, gundogan, frankie and barca will probably get another high profile interior along side romeu as a back up pivot. We were talking about bernardo because bernardo is the guy who not only will fit barcelona but also is someone who can put 2 goals against madrid in cruical UCL match. Puig is definitely not that guy.
