For everyone complaining about Landon's speed saying this is a boring match to watch, I couldn't disagree more. He is methodical. If you think this is boring you clearly don't have an appreciation for the game itself.

Earl is a power player with a massive stroke. He gets rolling and he free strokes so his pace is quick. This young guy like many players not has a routine he goes through which gives him consistency. If you're playing a big match or taking a tough shot a routine settles you because you're focusing on each step of it. I'm like Earl but I play much faster than he does. I used to play really fast to the point I was at the place I was planning to shoot from before the cue ball got there. Running a rack in a minute was not unusual. I feel like that limited me and made me more vulnerable to mistakes and just being really streaky. I moved from New York down south and didn't play for a while. When I can't back to playing I was really rusty so my arm felt like linguini. I choked up on the cue a few inches to shorten my stroke and slowed down a lot. I was playing close to my speed before in a couple weeks but still was not that comfortable yet because the routine made up for the loss of muscle memory a bit. I don't feel like I have to be really on to get out.

I think that Landon played under extreme control, especially for his age. Most eighteen year-olds fire right after the cue ball stops. He really impressed me in this match.

There are only a hand full of players that I respect more than Landon. Still fewer who I choose to emulate. His mental game is unwavering. His mechanics are FLAWLESS. His accomplishments are to be envied and he is just plain hard to beat under any circumstances. He does not appear to play the circuit much as I have not seen much from him lately, though I could be wrong about that. His pool knowledge is unparalleded and all aspects of his game should be studied if one is serious about improving their game. Thank you for the upload.

The only radiation that causes cancer is radiation in the ultra violet spectrum, such as gamma. Microwaves are in the infrared spectrum and do not cause cancer. Wireless microwave radiation is benign and completely non cancerous. Only those with hypersensitivity will experience symptoms, which are still non cancerous.

Landon is a world class player and I believe he could end up being the best in the future. my bet is on player of the decade 2020-2030 if not we will for sure see him as a player of the year during that time if he keeps playing the way he does. and I disagree with all the people who say he is slow. he never took more then 60 sec to take a shot and if he did it was not by much. he is just meticulous. I will be following this kid from now on. this was a match for the history books a passing of the torch so to speak.

Fantastic performance from Landon, no doubt. On a side note, it gets annoying how people make excuses for Strickland. When he's shooting well everyone praises him, when he's shooting bad its "he's getting bad rolls", "he's tired", "he just finished a match right before this and didn't get to rest a little". I don't know why everyone assumes he'll destroy everyone on the planet, I've seen him lose plenty of times. He's his own worst enemy.

i cant believe all the haters here capping on Landon. Earl is one of my favorite players to watch. I've been watching him before this kid was born. People are criticizing an 18 year old kid spanking a Hall of Famer on a 10 foot table with tight pockets saying that he is playing too slow. Everything is automatic to Earl. Earl is a pool playing machine. Watch Johnny Archer shoot he sets up for his shot two or three times I enjoy watching this kid more than Johnny Archer

Earl is the best pool player ever. He makes it look so easy. His stroke is like a work of art. He's a genius at this game. When he's in stroke no one in the world can beat him, even today. He might get a little emotional and upset sometimes but he's being real and it shows how much pride he carries on his shoulders while he's at work. I know Earl quite well. @@Rickbearcat actually, I'd he knows Earl well, that wouldn't make what he says null and void. I don't justify his attitude here. @@jakedouglas6904...Who gives a shit about "...very few can play at his level,...". Not one iota of that matters when you are playing someone. That would be like you saying that a person who MURDERED one of your family members was very good at giving money to charities. No one gives a rat's ass about the "good" you've done after doing something that bad. Earl is a narcissist and an ego-driven person. If things aren't going HIS way, he will try his best to ruin your day. That is asshole behavior. No, ifs, and's, or butts. And so mature for his age. I know hes much older know. 18 here in this match..but probably closer to 30 today. I recognized I needed to get a real job too. Too many ifs, ands, buts with pool for me. Next show Earl gets snookerd, tries to kick two rails and leave the cueball on the cushion. In stead he hits the object ball way too thin, but luckaly gets save. Landon always racks with the 2&3 in the back corners. Is this a rule, or just what he does for consistency?

The slowness makes me understand why Landon likely didn't follow pool as a career. For him, it is a lot of work. All the planning and calculations. Earl plays by feeling. There's a touch of magic in just seeing the shot and watching it go. Sure Earl does the same calculations...but he probably doesn't really think about it much. That being said this match was awesome to watch as you could watch textbook play and really think about what the next shot should be before Landon settled down to shoot.

Earl Strickland - You either love him or hate him, there seems to be no middle ground on the issue. Landon Shuffett - I think the next generation has arrived!

I haven't heard Tony's name in a long time. Man, could he shoot. I remember seeing him about 10 years ago in some tournament in Atlanta. It was a treat just to watch him warm up. He would throw the balls on the table and literally run around the table burying shot after shot; typically running out in a couple of minutes. Needless to say, he crushed everyone and won easily. What could have been :(

He took a different path. Went off to College, Played some pool in college, Graduated, Got Married. Is starting life as a married adult. Not sure where being a professional pool player would fit into all that.

Landon missed the 10 ball at the 1:42:40 because it looked like he lurched forward a bit on his bridge hand, and he moved his arm a bit also. He sure uses that open bridge a lot. He's a damn good player with it, but I believe he would get even better with using a closed bridge more often.

Landon may appear to play slower because we see him contrasted to Earl who plays relatively fast. Landon may not seem so slow matched against a more typical player. Aside from his amazing skill, his composure is beyond what is to be expected of anyone, no less an 18 year old. (Landon, if you play Tony Drago, the haters will go nuts!)

1:56:04 that is would really matter at this point in the game. But Landon nudges the nine ball with his arm during the shot. Actually moves the nine a little. Is this not a foul?

This kid is an amazing player. Which pro players can beat him when he is playing like this???? I'm not sure anyone can. From what I see, he's only made a couple of mistakes the entire match. HE'S GREAT!

Good job on Jay at the end of the match and VERY casually coming in and defusing a potential stick of dynamite. It was quite obvious Landon had enough of the bickering and didn't want to hear anymore and if Jay hadn't shown up and leaned on the table between the two, who knows what would have happened. I know Landon isn't the type to 'go off', but when any person feels bullied in front of a crowd... you never know the outcome at times. Good job Jay.

No, actually he was very smart. That's the way he tried to upset his opponent. He always uses that tactic (and has successed many times). But Landon didn't fall to Earl's trap, which was very, very good about him.
