Some Jalen Carter stats from this game for anyone interested. He had a career high 6 qb pressures on 33 pass snaps. He was double teamed on about 70% of those snaps & 3 of those pressures came against double teams. The work came against Brandon Scherff. A pro bowler in 5 of his 7 seasons. Scherff has never in his entire career given up that many pressures having never been dominated like he was by Carter Sunday. Fangio praised carters play in which he played almost Every down. I know fans want sacks… Jalen Carter had a Phenomenal effort on Sunday. He wasn’t selling out to rush the passer like dexy and others have been accused of this year in their quest for sack glory. in fact some of his best plays have been against the run! Sliding double teams on that high a % for your pro bowl guard says a lot about what opposing coaches think of Carters game. offensive line game plans are starting to revolve entirely on stopping Carter.

Honestly, even if it's a good throw I still think Nakobe makes that play, atleast breaks it up. He had position the whole time and his head was turned around pretty early.

On that 17 Dean INT - my boy 55 BG got a good push and got into QB face making Lawrance have to throw from his back leg 🦵 and not be able to step into it 😊

Dean was right where he needed to be on that interception with plenty of time to track the ball. I think an accurate pass from Lawrence would have at worst been a PBU.

Wanted to say thanks for dealing with the volume issue. Listening while I’m driving is way better now. Also want to put a plug in for you guys “keeping the main thing, the main thing” every podcast who doesn’t have enough football acumen to talk strictly footbal all have to resort to the personal attacks against… whoever it is this month! How about we give sirrianni some praise instead of always knocking everything about him. Oh yea and let me ask this to the fans and podcasters who have to resort to these attacks… who’s has a better overall record as a head coach last three yrs???

Great that the Eagles have found their offensive identity, but historically the owner doesn't like that identity...

I really expected Jalen Carter to be a game wrecker. It seems like he’s only a play (or two) wrecker. I hope he has it in him to fulfill his potential
@Tmindful1825 күн бұрын
I personally thought his impact on the game was phenomenal! Maybe he’ll get home this week. If he doesn’t the other DT has to on the island they’re being left on

Dude is a monster. He was Double teamed 70% of the time the pro bowl gaurd Scherff had protection slide to help him with Carter. And Jalen Carter still had 6 qb pressres. He is always wracking shop every snap . He isn't just chasing sacks he is playing dominant and smart.
@Skywalker7215 күн бұрын
He was pretty disruptive & impactful against Jacksonville. He definitely wrecked NO’s gameplan. He seems like he’s getting there sooner than later.
@dominickminyon43605 күн бұрын
If he is drawing double teams pushing the middle up into the QB forcing them into the ends for sacks that isn't a stat that shows up but is basically an assisted sack
@mikeminarich11595 күн бұрын
Coward's Draw is Sirani's hallmark play. He claims to be an aggressive play caller based on his 4th down decisions, but this is where he shows his true colors. He was setting up for the field goal and got lucky. If they had been stopped as expected, we would of been up 1 point at the end of the game and Jacksonville likely would have turtled for the FG and the win instead of throwing the interception
@InsideTheBirds5 күн бұрын
Who is Coward's?

Actually Baum is in that room with Fred Warner based on current season production.... Baum can cover RBs and stop the run

All the Eagles need are a DT and DE. If they got a dominant DT in the draft or FA, then there will be more 1v1 moments with Jalen Carter. I’d really like for the Birds to get Dexter Lawrence from the Giants. As impossible as that might sound. But Lawrence and Carter would be the best duo in the league. Wouldn’t be upset if Jordan Davis was gone and Bryce Huff.
@Skywalker7215 күн бұрын
Jalen Carter & Milton Williams are playing at a pretty high level basically every week. Jordan Davis plays well against the run. I don’t see a need for another high level DT when Milton Williams & Carter are developing so well. I could see Philly going with an edge rusher in the 1st round next year though.
@khayes97025 күн бұрын
@ that was not a shot at Williams. But no team would send the double team to block Williams if Carter is on the field too. We wouldn’t need an edge if the DT’s were both dominant
@Skywalker7215 күн бұрын
@@khayes9702 you would need an edge if teams just rolled out of the pocket on passing plays to avoid interior pressure. Also, teams can double both DTs & use a TE to block the weaker DE with a RB chipping him to buy time in the passing game. It doesn’t matter if Williams gets doubled if he continues to have high impact like he’s playing now
@khayes97025 күн бұрын
@ edge would obviously still do their jobs which would be to set the edge. You don’t need to be good to do that, but getting to the passer is what makes them great. But regardless who ever is the better player in next year’s draft between DE and DT, get them. I’d much rather take a chance on a DE in the draft than on a DT. That’s why I say get someone that’s already an established player like a Dexter Lawrence. The stronger the interior the more dominant the o-line is. Teams already chip the DE’s. Pressure up the middle gives opportunities to weaker DE’s.
@khayes97025 күн бұрын
Also I’d much rather a TE or a RB wasting time blocking sorry Bryce Huff and mediocre Josh Sweat than going out for a pass. Even if they double both DT’s and have two TE’s to double team everyone on the line, that’s taking away that offenses options. But like you said even if we get the best DE, they would double team him and Carter. So there’s no point to this discussion. I think Milton is a beast but he’d be a better DT3 behind Carter. Solidify the starting DT spot puts pressure in the QB’s face without having to blitz.

43:53. I also agree that the first read most likely was D. Smith. Like Mr. Greg Cosell mentions and as anyone should, we are not in the QB room so we can't be 100%. Reason why I appreciate Mr. Greg Cosell. It looks like it was supposed to be a deep stop/curl. Something Sirianni loves btw. To me Jalen was indecisive and maybe because of the underneath defender reading his eyes but that is definitely open. The defender is trying play between. Looks like Jalen sets his feet to throw it but then looks at the rush albeit late. Also looking at the rush maybe the reason unable to be quicker to get to Calceterra.

Yeah he does drift for whatever reason too. Strange.
