Golberg was a mark for his own gimmick. He wanted to be a competitor who was taken seriously as real, not be entertaining or goofy (his words from the video). Reality is if it was a real fight between Bret and Golberg at that time Golberg would have got his butt kicked. Only Golberg thinks Golberg is a good wrestler (and, of course, his fans). I've heard other wrestlers say he wasn't skilled. He gets credit and rightfully so of have a great character, but it wasn't a character to Bill he believed his own bull.

There are no sides. Most of the guys who wrestled with Goldberg pointed out that he had minimal in-ring skills and was dangerous to work with because he was clumsy, didn't bother to learn moves or sell, and gassed almost immediately. He had an amazing look and his mic work resonated with someone out there, clearly. But in the ring he was a total liability.

Regal is probably one of the classiest guys on earth. It could all be a work. Everything in the business, and life even, seems to be. Either way though, I have the utmost respect for someone who not only clawed their way back from from the low points he found himself in; but to also keep something like the agent’s name to himself for so long, not give in and reveal it on a whim as any of us might do. Like I said, it could all be fake. Maybe there was no agent at all, and Regal just wanted to make Goldberg look bad that day, then he did a really good job selling the story all of this time; but I want to believe that there are still people who can legitimately exhibit that kind of integrity. I hope there was an agent, and as badly as we all may clamor for a name to assign the blame to, I also hope his name never does get revealed. It will speak more to the strong character of Regal if it does remain one of the true mysteries left, when so many have been solved.

Lmao. Bill, you’re a wrestler, how are you a competitor and not an entertainer when you know the outcome of your match long before you get in the ring? Which also coincides with you complaining about William Riegel hitting you in the head too hard, maybe he’s a competitor just like you lol. I don’t know. Maybe you shouldn’t have kicked Brett so hard in the head.

Imagine blaming another man for your shitty life and just walking around with that chip on your shoulder for the rest of your life. Imagine THAT being all your life has become, "carry it around all day every day". He wasn't fired until after his stroke.

Hearing Bill Goldberg and William Regal both saying that if they wanted to hurt someone, that person wouldn't be walking out, got me thinking. If I had to choose which one I wanted to fight, I'd pick Goldberg. He's got brute force, but brute force can be countered. It can be mitigated. Regal, as well as Bret and Kurt, have the knowledge and skills to counter just about anything you can throw at them, twist you up, and hurt you badly. Bill saying that makes him sound like he's desperately trying to be a tough guy. Regal saying it makes me fear him.

Regal used to bare knuckle box while growing up, pretty sure he could have destroyed Goldberg in a legit fight.

Kurt Angle in his prime could take down anyone in the world. If Bill wanted to hurt Bret, he would have. If Regal and Bill were in a fight, my money would be on bill. The man has been practicing martial arts for decades now, plus he is as strong as an oxe.

I think that one kick from Goldberg, which was not nearly as stiff as Bret makes it out to be, was irrelevant compared to the tens of thousands of concussions he likely suffered over the decades of his career including the additional ones he took AFTER that kick. He kept wrestling. That kick wasn't the end. It sucks to have lasting injuries from a lifetime of hard wreckless athletic activity. It is what it is and he should stop hacking on Goldberg for saying he end d his career even though he wrestled again the very next day and for a year after. I call bullshit.

I get that Bill really kicked Bret, but if one kick from a guy that doesn’t even throw good kicks like a trained fighter was enough to give you such a bad brain damage, it means you were already hanging by a thread from previous hits to the head or collisions. Blaming just Goldberg is silly, even being safe as Bret is, a lifelong career in a contact sport is going to take its toll.
