Insidious basically became the movie equivalent of Five Night's At Freddy's. #1: "Holy shit! This has potential!" #2: "Wow, this is. . . Intriguing." #3: "Well that was disappointing." #4: "What the fuck even is this?!!" I suspect they both suffered this for the same reason: They knew how to bait a sequel, but had not given any consideration to what they would do if they actually got to make one.

Yes; shown in part 2. *Therefore the timeline is: Part 4, Part 3, Part 1, then Part 2.* I'm excited about the thrill of the movie. The writers are brilliant; psychologically. In the tunnel, to create in the audience, the belief that the ghost was behind the suitcase was done beautifully. The ghost breathing seemed to be further down the tunnel; she flashed her light down the tunnel, to enforce in the audiences mind that the ghost is definitely behind the pile of suitcases, then he pops out of the suit case! Brilliant psychological thriller. The girl in the bathroom turned out to be real!!! cold/twisted/plot and that was genius. The police station and interrogation rooms are naturally believe to be a place of safety, to the human mind, and at the part of the movie, it's common to let our guards down and sip some soda; so for the ghost to pop up in the interrogation room behind the detective was very clever. Oscar? hell yes.

The intro was AMAZING. The tension from the father was so REAL it really had the theatre quiet as fuck. The humor was great. You label them just as these two sidekicks, whatever. I’ve just seen the latest Insidious. I’m a huge fan of the Insidious franchise, however I was a little let down by the ‘The Last Key’. If anybody’s a fellow Insidious fan (or just bored) here are my thoughts.... Beware of spoilers. The movie was good and had some standout moments, however it felt like a drop from the previous two movies. I think the first movie was good, second was better, third was fantastic then this kinda slipped. The film had a really strong start (although I missed the iconic violin title opening) and the strength throughout the entire movie was Lin Shaye’s portrayal of Elise. But the film couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be another standard haunting, an Elise backstory or a bridge to tie all the movies together; what we ended up getting was a bit of a mix of different ideas with lots of potential but none of them fully executing. The key demon was really cool and looked amazing, however there wasn’t any explanation as to what it was, where it came from and why it opens all the red doors. The link to the other movies and the concept that the key demon/Elise caused the Lambert family haunting was clever, but they really brushed over this and I actually think the entire movie could have been around the demon opening the red doors and causing all the hauntings from the franchise. I think they could have focussed a little less on comedy and more on horror, in some scenes a lot of tension was built and then vanished due to a cheap one liner. I like the comedy in these movies although in this film it worked against the genuinely scary atmosphere which was created by the opening sequence. Overall I think it’s still better than your everyday horror movie but it wasn’t quite on par with the other Insidious movies. Elise was really the standout of the film. Hopefully we get another movie on par with the third chapter!

I feel like one of the only people who really liked this movie. Insidious is one of my favourite horror franchises and I think Leigh Whannell is a very talented writer, not to mention the fact that Specs and Tucker are my favourite characters and Lin Shaye plays Elise perfectly. I think the grading scale should be skewed for movies. A 1/10 for a game is one that won't even run for most people. But a movie can't really do that or be broken. I think a 3/10 for a movie should be the average.

Possible Spoilers: I enjoyed this one. I'd seen the review scores going in, so perhaps my expectations were lower as a result, but I genuinely had a good experience with this film. That being said, it was a very slow burn horror, there wasn't too much happening, but I don't mind slow burn horror, I prefer it to having unnecessary jump scares every few minutes and it's a franchise where I find the lore interesting to delve into. The main demon tho of the film - 'key face' - didn't really have a satisfying pay off, they were just some generic demon?, and the whole trying to open all the doors thing, was kind of explained, the doors being to different areas of the Further, but I felt like it could have been developed more, was it searching for a specific door to free someone for instance? I also felt the reasoning behind why both Elise's father and this other guy were chaining up women could have been better explored, were they trying to appease the demon? It seems like a strange co-incidence they would have the same MO. It was alluded to that the Demon was influencing them somehow, but again I wish they'd have expanded on this more in the film. The main question I still have, and the one I wan't answered in a sequel (at this point I want a proper sequel to the second in the series, no more prequels), who is the 'Lipstick Face Demon'? I hope we get an actual answer.explanation on this after so much build up over the series - not just that he's another generic demon and that's it. I have a few theories. Theory 1) It's the brother after he dies - we've seen time works different for ghosts/demons/'The Further' so this might explain why the 'Lipstick Demon' was shown next to her brother as a little boy in the bed in this film. Theory 2) It's Elise herself, but in the future - again this would play into the whole time travel thing and Elise was wearing a lot of red during this film. Theory 3) It's the guy who the assistant killed (the psycho who had that woman chained up in his basement) - this could lead to a confrontation between the two in a sequel - this would seem strange as he only just died, but then time doesn't work that way in 'The Further' so perhaps its still possible - remember he did have a red bible he was attached to! - lol basically anything of red makes me think 'Lipstick Face Demon' at this point! lol I hope this series gets at least ONE more, if for nothing else, then just to finally wrap up this 'Lipstick Face Demon' arc!

I think a big problem for Aj and Alex is that they didn't see the 3rd one, the 3rd one was a prequal and this one is a prequel to the prequel. They have no context when it comes to many things in the movie but the second half is worse than the beginning parts for sure, But a 3/10 or whatever is really unfair, i would say it's a 6 or a 7/10 with some great parts in the movie for sure. The humor did not land at all, but didn't take away from it that much in my opinion. Lin Shaye was great in the movie no question about it. Final verdict 6/10 and a 7/10 if you are a fan. But that's just my opinion :D

My REVIEW -> Ive seen it at the cinema, I fall asleep after 30 minutes, my ice blast drink was over, I left in the middle of the movie. 1/10 Mixing bad jokes with something which supposed to be a horror its not a good idea. Horrible acting sounds like reading a book out loud. Dont waste your time people.

I thought 2 was the best. I also watched that one first though. But I loved how even watching them in that order, 2 and then 1, still made sense in that direction. Those were both really good. 3 felt like a stand-alone teenage horror. Which isn’t a good thing.
