কেনো জানিনা, দুরগা পুজতে ঢাকের বাজনা না থাকলে, আমার মনে হয় যেন পুজোটা অসম্পূর্ণ রয়ে গেলো। ছোট বেলায় , সব পুজো মণ্ডপেই ঢাকের বাজনা শুনতে পেতাম। এখন যত দিন যাচ্ছে, সব পুজো কমিটি গুলো, সব এত লক্ষ লক্ষ টাকা খরচ করে lighting, decoration এইসবের জন্য। কিন্ত্যু কোনো ঢাক বা ঢাকির ব্যবস্থা রাখেনা। অথচ, বাংলার প্রত্যন্ত গ্রাম থেকে কত গরিব ঢাকিরা বয়নার আশায় কলকাতায় আসে, শিয়ালদহ স্টেশন চত্বর, ধর্মতলার মতো জায়গাতে এসে দিনের পর দিন অপেক্ষা করে বসে থাকে , কখন কোনো পুজো কমিটি এসে তাদের কাছে ঢাকের বায়না করবে ... !! .... শেষে কোনো বায়না না পেয়ে ওরা নিজের গ্রামে ফিরে যায় বাংলা এবং বাঙালিদের সব চেয়ে আনন্দের, সব ছেয়ে বড়ো পুজো, দুর্গা পুজায় বুক ভরা দুখ, ব্যাথা আর নিরানন্দ নিয়ে। এত হাজার হাজার পুজো কমিটি , পারে না কি, অন্য দিকের অপ্রয়োজনীয় খরচ গুলো একটু কমিয়ে দিয়ে, দুটি ঢাকির ব্যবস্তা করে, পারে না কি গরিব ঢাকি আর তাদের পরিবারের মুখে একটু খানি হাসি ফোটাতে??

+Suparno Ghosh Oh..Well thanks for the clarification. It does look and sound similar to the Tassa we have in the West Indies, I suppose the difference is that the Tassa Drums we use are basically Nagara Drums hung from the neck like in this video with Various Beats (Hands) ie Nagara, Dingolay, Calypso, wedding hand, etc.

In some foreign places Durga Puja is cancelled, and no priests are willing to come to people’s homes so I had to do the pujas myself with whatever is available. Forget lotus flowers, not even bel leaves are available in the US.
